What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Stinger to the rescue!

Stinger to the rescue!
Stinger was parked there next to a 67 Mustang and some others when they decided to put the chopper down. Wasn’t happy with the potential for it to blow a heap of crap all over the car but thankfully the grass meant it wasn’t blowing up dirt/rocks so no damage. I knew they were coming to the venue we were at, didn’t know that’s where they were going to put it down when I parked. Neither did the others parked near me but it was too late to move.

The colour looks great in those photos Coast GT.

Had the opportunity to stretch the Stinger’s legs on a “private road” at an undisclosed location that people went to great lengths to point out isn’t a race track despite the “private road” having a whole bunch of turns (29 of them) and a couple of good long straights. No timed laps or actual racing as such. I was the only Stinger there and it held its own against a number of other cars that most would consider performance more so than the Stinger. Didn’t push it as hard as some pushed their cars but still gave it a bit on the straights. Was a good day and impressive watching some of the others go round. Ranged from Ferrari to Porsche to BMW, to Audi, Mercedes, Subaru, a couple of HSV GTS, an FPV GTF and a mix of every day cars. Several commented on how surprised they were at the performance of the Stinger, but the common theme was they couldn’t hear it. Very noticeable lack of sound with stock exhaust compared to the V8s

Did you tell them you personally dialed up stealth mode just to be different?:D

I like quiet cars. Artificially exaggerated engine noise is pointless, imho. Anybody can scream or yell in public. When people do it, it's considered rude unless there's a good reason.

Well I had been thinking of getting the bimodal and timing it to be fitted when I go in for the 20,000km service in the next couple of weeks, but doubt I’ll bother as the Kia website now lists it at $3315.92 up from the $2500 they were supplying them for when I bought the car just over a year ago. At that price with no extra performance they can stick their bimodal right up the back of some other chumps Stinger, I’ll stick with permanent stealth mode.

Hooly Dooly, that price jump is probably to claw back $$$ they have sent rectifying warranty issues others have had with the bi-modal since it’s inception.

As I said before a piece of cardboard and peg will get same result lol

Yeah could be, may also be to make up for some of the ridiculous discounts they’ve given people to fit the bimodal when they bought the car. From memory some of the prices stated on here were basically half price. Good for those Stinger buyers but Kia can’t really sustain that, unless of course they were massively overpriced in the first place.

You can get a full 4" single set up from Johnny Tig for $2800.

The bimodal setup was stupidly overpriced to begin with - the fact that they're now asking even more for it is inexcusable (and frankly, unexplainable).

Ah, nice.

I've done a few of the tracks at Eastern Creek (North and South, plus the skidpan) and Wakefield. I haven't done Marulan or Luddenham yet.

I wonder what it would cost for us to arrange a Stinger group session...
$200 per person weekdays & $250 on weekends

Quite affordable. Then add the cost of tyres... :)
And brakes, and any repairs if you come unstuck because most likely your insurance won’t cover you and the track will make you sign a waiver so they don’t have to cover you either. Still good fun but can be an issue of things go wrong
