Car & Driver just published an in-depth review/comparison, in which the 2.0L T Stinger had a braking distance from 70mph to 0 in 182 feet! The GT2 did it in 156feet. Would this be a valid concern? Also not sure if their 2.0L test Stinger was on different rubbers to the GT2 that affected the braking distance.

The GT's all have the Brembo brakes , they are ceramic and have 4 pistons so their performance is significantly better vs the standard brakes on the non GT's

Yes well aware of the Brembo performance. Checked with Performance Friction if they had Z Rated pads i could swap to for my Stinger when it arrives in March but nothing listed for any Kia! Wonder if the GT Brembos will be sold as a kit.

Did they use the same tires? Same day/outside conditions?

Nothing mentioned, suspect the base 2.0L wheels were’nt Continentals either.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Actually semi-mentioned, went to check: "Without the Brembos and rolling on less grippy all-season tires, a four-cylinder Stinger needed 182 feet to come to a stop. "

Try it again with proper summer tires. It probably still wont be the Brembos, but probably better.

Good spot! Will look for pad upgrade or a BBK in any case

I swapped out my OEM BMW pads for Axxis ceramics and they were great for stopping and had virtually no dust !

Had that same benefit with PFC Z Rated brakes/pads! Still have my stock Mitsubishi Evo 10 stock Brembos which i’ll try to fit on the Stinger with Girodiscs and Z Rated pads

Autoweek's review had the 6cyl GT stopping from 60mph @ 105ft. Damn good in my book!

The stock tires on the 2.0T are not performance tires, if you plan on driving it hard, get some performance summers or UHP AS tires. Those would be the first thing I change on the car.

Yep that might explain the long braking distance, Singapore gets Continental ContiSportContact 5 rubbers but will be changing to Yokohama Advan Sport V105S on lightweight forged rims

Those Conti's are pretty scookum tires , They would work great !

Continental Sportcontacts are good.At least the 6ers, for the 5s I have to check, but it is a premium brand.
