New 3.3L Catback option(s)

MY MBRP EXPERIENCE

FINALLY !!! Took 5 weeks for the exhaust to be made, it arrived intact from MBRP, I am was quite pleased, the box was not even bruised haha

Very very well packaged, compare to my previous system on other cars , I must say that Canadian do it the right way

It had foam and bubble wrap, should have taken pics of that ! The piping is amazing, easy instructions, clamps are great !

Our OEM system is heavy , specially the cats !

Since it is a bolts on system, I borrowed a friend’s hoist and took my time, give it take how hours to find the right tools, trim a bit of plastic for the tips and triple checking my bolts.

I am not super mechanically incline person so it is definitely doable, two person job if you want someone to help guide the pipes.

If you decide to do the exhaust yourself, it is going to be tricky on ramps but possible, hoist was definitely nice to have, plus you get more room to maneuver and get to see the underneath of the car.

Tips: use some grease or silicone on the hangers otherwise you will fight with them to be taken off…the oem are on sooooooo tightly in there.

I will make some videos soon, however for whoever is wondering, this exhaust system is SUPER MINT ! it is definitely not obvious , doesn’t sound like a fart exhaust … it subtle at low rpm and idle, nice little grown to it ! in ECO, love how you can hear all the gear shifting, it is a very nice sound at 6am around the neighbourhood, you can still floor it and hear the nice loud rumble.

Comfort is a tad louder and if I want to really hear the growls and deep tone, push it in SPORTS … amazing sound all around !

I have done two (very small though) highway trips and I can report that with my tips set up , I do not have any type of drone in the cabin, nothing that gives me a headache , the hummm of the exhaust note is tamed, I have turned off the Active Engine Sound too.

Cold start is a little bit louder but that expected and it tams down after 45s once the engine calms and then you get a nice exhaust tone !

Overly I am VERY happy with this exhaust, it is giving me a beafier sound than the OEM set up, the “Helmholtz chamber” are definitely doing their job, I love the set up and most definitely recommend it !

Looks awesome! Glad you're happy with it.

I think when you said the OEM system "cats" are heavy you meant the "mufflers" because yes, they're heavy!

I’m guessing based on the price and the 3 year warranty that it’s the aluminized version? The listing doesn’t specify.
Just updated the listing to reflect it is the aluminized version. However, as I posted above, we can get you the T304 version no problem.

I have my SS MBRP. I just wanted clarity because a lot of people are asking me where I got mine.
Oh cool, no problem at all, we will soon be adding the option for the SS version as well.

Nevermind, I have gone ahead and updated the listing on our site as of NOW.

Now you can see/order both of the different available options from the same product page.

Please let us know if you guys see anything needed to be changed or updated. ;)

Have a great weekend!

I just ordered the ss version from k8. I'm guessing it'll be a while away, but this seems like the best overall option for tone, drone, and volume for my tastes.

I'm really sure I'm going to purchase the MBRP cat back, really sounds great. I can't decide between SS or aluminized. The Stinger will never be driven in rain/snow. Is there any difference in the sound between SS/aluminized?

No. Go aluminized. Mine doesn’t see snow and little rain so went aluminized.

SS exhaust can sometimes sound "tinnier" than mild steel (aluminumised in this case), at least until they "bed in" and a layer of soot settles inside the pipes.

If you don't need the longer life of SS, the cost savings are probably worth it.

Hope not to lose to much sound when the "bed in" happens, I know carbon build up is inevitable but dam right now the tone of the exhaust is super mint !!

ps : how do I upload videos (getting error file is too big and it is only 40s video) , I'd like to do some goPro shoot and share the sound Iam getting

Thank you for your order with us Adam. I will definitely keep you in the loop with tracking information once it ships out.

Is the factory cat back ss?

I wondered the same and I think so based on looking at it closely after I removed it. Didn’t see any markings though that would prove the grade of steel though.

Hold a magnet to it. SS is not magnetic.
