BMS states that mileage is unaffected by the JB4 when you drive easy and stay out of boost. I thought I'd put it to the test.

I photographed my trip MPG after every morning commute last week. My commute is ~43mi, and I stop at Buc'ees every morning for a breakfast taco, perfect time to snap a pic!

Every trip was done on Map2 in ECO mode, 93 octane.
This consists of 5mi stop-and-go traffic, 5mi high-speed tollway (go 90 or you're getting passed), and 30mi of medium traffic highway (avg 60-75).

As you can see, BMS is telling the truth; stay out of boost and the JB4 will not kill your mileage.
NOTE: I only tracked morning commutes because:
1) traffic is more consistent in the am, and
2) I cannot behave myself in the afternoon, and MPG suffers greatly.

26.4 MPG = 8.91 L/100 km
29.0 MPG = 8.11 L/100 km
28.7 MPG = 8.20 L/100 km
30.0 MPG = 7.84 L/100 km
28.3 MPG = 8.31 L/100 km

(EDIT: added communist unit conversions for the Aussies)

Wow - you'd better hope that Liberia has your back during the next phase of the revolution, comrade ... :p

Thanks for the confirmation. :)

I never noticed any drop in mileage using JB4.
The car is faster only when you want it to be.

That's pretty decent numbers on the L/100KM, I rarely see less then 14L/100KM due to traffic but on a long drive i did hit 7.6L/100KM.

Just remember Communist Puns aren't good unless everyone gets it.... lol

I get 22.5 on e30 running map 5 daily.

What? What's ECO mode? Now you're just talking crazy.
No that was the joke part. No wonder no one got it. What is ECO mode anyway?

I too tend to drive in eco mode in the mornings due to a heavier cop presence and me getting 2 speeding tickets during morning commutes so far this year.

Great job putting all this together! I can confirm that my MPG is also completely unaffected by daily driving Map 2 on 93 octane... Well, as long as I stay out of boost, but let's be real, who's really staying out of boost? ;)

Jokes aside, even with relatively spirited driving, my fuel economy has been pretty good.

You aren't driving in sport mode for economy so stop it.

Sport mode often involves spirited passing and speeds of questionable legality. 20-22 at best.

Sport mode MPG = Very bad.

Sport mode smiles per mile = Very good.

I just drove from Hendersonville NC to Gettysburg PA today (about 520 miles) with my 2018 2.0 on Premium fuel and on Eco mode and got a real time calculated 34-35 mpg. Also had to keep it in Eco mode since the state troopers in Virginia were everywhere!!! Just turned 6000 miles today.

I drove from SLC to Denver this week and got 34.5 mpg on map1 91 octane in eco with the cruise control just set between 65 & 80 depending on cops. 3.3T motor

Quite impressive. What was the actual calculated mpg after fill ups?
