• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Pardon my ignorance but what is a " Boomer gal" ? sounds like something we should have down here in OZ.
Oh and speaking of OZ, @Ozstung, calling people " Old Coots " how disrespectful, where's your manners young man ? :p;):D

Hiked the Lake Blanche trail this afternoon. Only got about halfway to the lake; it's a somewhat demanding hike of almost three miles of relentless climbing. It was also hot. My wife is also somewhat slow (but not for a gal in her mid 60s).

This is how I park:

I picked that spot in spite of the limb above looking like it wanted to finish its journey to the ground.

The trail was busy. As we were sitting on a rock snacking (as far as we got, within view of "Sundial" peak), a hiker who introduced himself as Willie Holdman took our picture (he obliged me by including the two rather fetching girl hikers :D). Here are his website offerings of the Lake Blanche area.

When I pulled up to the parking lot entrance it looked slammed. "I'm not going in there!" I said. "Okay, let me off and I'll see you in half an hour," my wife said: she knew I was going to go around to the west parking lot instead and take the stiffer hike up to Bell Reservoir. Then she said, "I'm not ready yet. It'll take me fifteen minutes." Gah!? Sitting out here on the side of the road while she gets ready? I put it in gear and went in and found an end stall made in heaven: extra wide. God is looking out for me! That's how it feels anyway when serendipity strikes. But I didn't see the stanchion! My RF tire bumped against something before I came up to the curb. Eh? I got out and looked. Tire up against a corroding stanchion. I could have scraped the underside of my bumper!? But, I didn't and I left the car there. I also gathered up concrete and light colored rocks and packed the exposed ends of the rebar, so that somebody wouldn't trip on it because they didn't see it. Heh!

Lower Bell Falls was gushing. This is August and it was still putting out a prodigious amount of water, more than I have ever seen. One hiker said you should have seen it in June. You couldn't even see the rocks behind it anywhere. That must have been something to see alright.

The hike took all afternoon and early evening. We didn't get back to the parking lot till c. six-thirty; home by c. eight (Costco on the way).

Fantastic images as always, Merlin! Thanks!

It started off a very grey day and then we had patches of rain so Sonic is very dirty and I can't wait to wash her after work tomorrow.
Hubby took me to Lorne for lunch via Dean Marsh which has very twisty roads, he drove using paddle shifters and she handled superbly around the bends and with the rain pouring down. The other cars must have been local because they knew the etiquette of driving off to the side using the turn outs to let faster cars pass ( which happened to be us ).
There were Cockatoos everywhere and one cheeky cocky came to say " hi ", saw a red Lambo cruise past.
We could see the car from where we were sitting and Sonic got some attention from people strolling past.
