• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

After meeting everyone at the Woodinville Stinger gathering, it's clear we all enjoy driving the car as much or more than the destination. The Locust Way Auto Club is a group my friends and I started for just such folks. We cruise around Washington usually day tripping or weekend overnights. We have our next big one scheduled for the 28th of September. This is super informal and just an excuse to get out and enjoy some corners and countryside.
The rough outline is:
Lynnwood to Winthrop-single day
Winthrop to Wenatchee back home via Hwy 2 -sat overnight trip

Leaving Albertsons (now Safeway) on 44th in Lynnwood @7:30 (starbucks and bathrooms but no fuel available)
I5 to Hwy 20
We stop at Diablo lake lookout
Continue on 20 to Winthrop. We stop here for lunch and small town lookieloo. This is the spot where some folks end and turn around and head back. Beautiful drive lots of fun.

Another portion is going on to Hwy 97 then Wenatchee. Hotels this day aren't bad at all ($130-210). Saturday night spent in Wenatchee.
Sunday the return trip is Hwy 97 to Hwy 2. We'll travel through Leavenworth and through Stevens pass. Most folks disperse throughout the trip enjoying whatever catches their fancy. The object is to get out and get seen.

We're based in Lynnwood 15-20 min north of Seattle
Our car clubs rules:
Turn signals -Use them
Safe following distance -no unnecessary tailgating
Drive at YOUR comfort level -no pressure to drive fast. But please don't block a pass
Have fun. Be safe. Be ready to talk about CARS

I really don't want this to be anything more than letting some great folks I met know about a fun thing.

We do quite a few of these runs.
XXX Issaquah
Zeekes on hwy 20 using Ben Howard Road (super twisty fun)
WOCOW weekend cannonball Washington Oregon California and back Two days
Yakima trip
Lake chelan trip
Ocean shores

Cheers!

Strong possibility we'd do the day run to Winthrop and back.

Could be down for some of these, just need to factor in travel time from Kent.

Update: The cascade Hwy 20 pass has chance of snow forecasted. If that stays true through Thursday 9/26, we will be abbreviating the trip to make for safe travel. Departure will be the same. A similar route is planned however, it is closer to a half day event. Lynnwood to Diablo lake lookout.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
With the upcoming weather reports we have canceled the drive. Better safe than sorry.

Second to last test and tune at Pacific Race ways in Kent Wa this Sunday.
Super easy for beginners just go read the drag 101 post and come on out. Its all head to head line up and go. No races no eliminations.
Temps in the 40s and 50s should be a very fast day.

I would love to join you on one of these days Tonka. Hopefully I'll be able to swing it next season. Cheers.
