Has anyone else noticed that the upper panel (metal) protrudes slightly further out than the lower panel (plastic) where the rounded corner meets - see picture.View attachment 25329
Looks like one of the clip has popped out of place/misaligned.Has anyone else noticed that the upper panel (metal) protrudes slightly further out than the lower panel (plastic) where the rounded corner meets - see picture.View attachment 25329
You can fix that by adjusting the two rubber stoppers inside the bonnet. My hood (bonnet to you blokes) is ever so slightly off. The right side edge is a teensy bit higher than the fender. I only noticed it once, in the park, with the morning sunlight slanting across the hood, which showed a shadow line cast from the slightly higher hood. Otherwise, I'd never have seen it at all and could not write about it months later.
@Dom your car is very pretty. But "nothing in life has any business being perfect."![]()
Hey Merlin the bumpers on your "bonnet" are adjustable just screw them to raise/lower the corner with the issue !! I did it to mine as well............EDIT I see Dom beat me to it !My hood (bonnet to you blokes) is ever so slightly off. The right side edge is a teensy bit higher than the fender. Glad to be of service Squire!Looks better! Thanks! It takes the left stopper (car's left) all the way out and the right stopper all the way in, to make the slight lift on the right side disappear. Both of these are "after" shots:

Okay, I am a believer in subjective observation. I WANT everything on my car to be perfectly aligned, forever. This morning, earlier than yesterday, I took before and after pics; in earlier, more slanting sunlight (i.e. stronger shadow definition). First pic is how the hood stoppers were before I fiddled, i.e. how I got the car over a year ago (unless they vibrate to different levels); this was left stopper mostly or all the way in; right stopper c. halfway out. The "after" pic is left stopper all the way out and right stopper all the way in.Looks better! Thanks! Yep. Grrr. The whole hood might be sitting a tad high. I will get corresponding "sunset" pics to get the shadow from the left side. Then compare. I've only ever noticed this in morning light. And the assumption (obviously) is that the right edge of the hood is high. It probably isn't. Probably the entire hood is slightly higher than the fenders, toward the front at least. The further back you look, the shadow disappears and in fact the fender edge seems to be catching sunlight, i.e. is at least even with the hood if not slightly above it. Don't you just hate stuff like this!?Its sitting a bit high still ..................
Too late! This kind of stuff could drive you insane!
OC(D) is a common malady of the new car owner, I'm still discovering.
