In the US section i posted a mention of elevated cabin temperature. Because up there it is winter they haven't noticed. I have definitely noticed through the floor, firewall, glove box and surrounds heat. To me i maybe wrong but it seems to be lack of good insulation. Stepping from a Merc to this ive really noticed. Anyone else?

Hi Ozstung,

Dont have my ride yet... but do you mean the car interior surfaces feel hot to the touch or that the airconditioning doesn't keep the car cool??

Hi Ozstung, no appearent issue here, drove up the coast today with aircon set at 22c with outside recirculating set, outside was 35c, both wife & I comfortable, put cooling seat on for return trip after car sat in the sun for about 2hrs also had sunroof at tilt open to let heat out.

Ozstung's Stinger might be having heat leak in from the engine compartment, or from a heater hose, im sure he will figure it out, unless of course the seats might just be set on heat, and doesn't realise it..haha, sorry, just a joke Ozstung, hope you find out soon what's going on.

Ok folks took the car the 1-1/2 to the beach for its first main drive. Windows down sunroof open. Console area hot, carpet warm. And then reached down to the left foot rest and put my hand diectly left. Burned my hand on some red hot pipe just inside the carpet. This explains the glue like fumes when i picked up the car. Its going to have go for a check up. Anybody else suffering? Ps thanks for the humour guys

Interior surfaces warm to hot to touch.

Hey Ozstung, happy to hear you have found the cause of the heat in the cabin, hope your dealership can resolve this issue for you. When i take delivery of mine, i am going to check for this issue before i leave the dealership.

On one hand, I'm glad to hear this isn't a "Stinger" issue - where all Stingers run hot inside. On the other hand, I'm sorry to hear the issue is happening to anyone at all. However, it'll get resolved and life will be good again. All's well that ends well. Let's just get there. Please keep us updated, @Ozstung...

Thanks Sal, car is booked in for an inspection regarding the issue on Tuesday. Will keep you posted.

How did everyone else fair with the 41 degree day in Melbourne today? Any complaints on the aircon setup?

Wow, it would be great to hear about what they find. I wonder what kind of heat source could be near the left foot rest that would create that kind of heat? Since the cars in Austrailia, could it be the headers?

Ok folks had the car looked at. Its the "Heater core hose" its very hot but not something Kia are concerned about. The truth is that it really should be insulated and of course its not. And from what i understand neither is any other Stinger. If they hear more complaints it maybe raised as an issue. The mechanic said having the A/c on would mask some of the heat. Im surprised others havent noticed. The pipe behind the carpet is that hot i have blisters on my fingers from just momentarily touching it. So ...nothing to see hear...yet?

Took a while for it to cool down but nothing drastic. The test will be the heavy traffic on drive home from work over the next 2 months.ill point an infrared heat gun at the vent and get an air temp if it seems like it’s not performing

This is directly to the left of the dead pedal in LH drive or the transmission tunnel that's to the left in an RH drive car? Thanks.

Just wait until Summer. If this isn't only an issue with your car, specifically, there are going to be lots of complaints...

I suspect that the price bracket the Stinger is in means the accountants had to draw lines resulting in compromises so Kia can make some money. That you're noticing the heat, means they've skimped on insulation, which probably accounted for the disappointing NVH rating the Stinger received in one comparative review that included an Audi A5.

I kinda expected it might happen, and given the predominance of course-chip tar seal on NZ roads (cheap to lay, but shifts costs to vastly increased tire wear and noise-induced driving fatigue), I'm going the consider getting the car interior stripped and lined with mass-loaded vinyl.

Well folks as it wasnt the hotest day we've had i drove the car wthout the a/c on and of course that heater pipe ive been talking about was more than noticeable. My left leg got burnt and is still throbbing 5 hours later. The dealers getting another call and visit over this. I cant keep running the a/c to mask this. I need to see other vehicles to see if im missing some sought of insulation. I can't see my dealer putting his hand up voluntarily. Keep ya all posted.

Hi Ozstung, im planning to visit my dealership tomorrow, now that your issue is fresh in my mind, i will try check it out in a showroom Stinger, or even the Stinger the Sales Manager drives home everyday, to see if the area down there radiates the heat your experiencing in yours.

Cheers mate it would be really interesting to see if its not restricted to my vehicle. As an experiment i left the car running and came back 10 minutes later and the foot rest on the left got that hot i could barely put my foot on it. Forgot to mention like another member i think in the Uk my mobile that i had on the charging station had a message saying phone was running to hot and over 40 degrees. As mentioned prior when a/c is on it masks this. Cheers DCB.

Seems to me that LH drivers aren’t noticing it because it’s in the left hand side of the RH passenger compartment for them. Could still be an issue for everyone.
