AC not that cold

Hey Doc. Gotcha. I have the opposite issue here in the far northern California coastal rain forest. I need a sunroof to ward off seasonal affect disorder. It can be pretty gloomy and rainy here and a sunroof is just what the doctor ordered. Sorry. Couldn't resist.

Did a test on my
Air vent temp
Outside temp 42c (107)
Vent temp 5c (41)
Took under 10 minutes to reach that temp.

Mine doesn't seem too cold either. Only 18 degrees Celcius today and sunny.

I felt pretty warm today with the auto set at 19C

Update.

Went to the dealer. Our Canadian stingers were only getting shipped with a half charge of refrigerant.

Topped up and AC is ice cold now.

Why? Because it's already too cold there?

Heh. I would have sold the car and go something different if thats just how it was... Thankfully it's great now.

They did tell me that last year EVERY rio they got had no refrigerant in them because there was a shortage. So they were taking it out of other cars to put in the sold ones. And billing all the labour to Kia.

Good to hear (in an odd, really shitty quality control kind of way) that I'm not the only one. Should be a quick, easy fix..

Gets pretty hot Downunder but I have no issues. I leave climate control on all the time.

When ON, I just leave it in Auto and adjust the temperature knob. When the heater is coming on, I dial down to c. 69F. When the "refrigerator" is on I dial the setting up to c. 79F. It's just how my body works. And often I'll turn the whole thing OFF and open the sunroof.

Me too. But when I needed to it to get cold.... it was luke cold at best.... Now that they filled the AC charge it gets nice and cold!

That's just crazy that they ship with half or NO coolant. And then the buyer gets the car that way? Crazy and stupid!:confused:o_O

Agreed. Maybe only a Canada thing though.
I don't care where. It shouldn't happen at all. But if they ship that way, the dealership should KNOW and top off the A/C. Unbelievable.

It sounds like the dealers weren't even informed. They were pretty upset about it too.
That is even more unbelievable. How could Kia ship cars lacking any fluid and not inform the dealers? Something isn't adding up here.

Make they did. Maybe they didn't. I'm just telling you what the service advisor told me during our 3 minutes chat while I was getting mine filled
