Is there a way to have the front parking sensors and camera engage automatically when parking without reversing or manually selecting them..?

How would it know you were parking?

Fair point but even if they came on when you were close to objects or vehicles at slow speed it would be beneficial.... just a bit annoying having to turn them on when parking front on.

That would be a good idea, however, my sensors are very sensitive and come on just sitting at a red light with no one around me so that would be equally annoying, I keep them off so they are only on in reverse or when I turn them on.

Once ON, they stay on and work each time I pull forward to park. Mine are not always going off for no reason (not overly sensitive), so I never turn them off.

hmmmm mine are always on, even if I pull into a spot. Sometimes they go off when I'm stuck in traffic, typically when it's cold or humid and visible exhaust wafts into them.

I'm confused, what front sensors are you referring to and how is it activated?

he's talking about the front proximity sensors, or parking sensors. The thing that beeps at you right before you hit a wall you're parking infront of :)

I'm confused too. My car doesn't beep when I'm parking head first and there's obstruction. It definitely beeps when I'm reverse parking.

How do you guys enable/disable this feature? Maybe in the Canadian model, it's disabled by default and needs to be enabled in the menu system.

Maybe your 2018 GT Limited didn't come with front sensors.

The Canadian stingers do not have front parking sensors. They have the 360-degree camera system instead.

If you look at the bumper cover on the American cars you can see the round sensor buttons which are not on the Canadian vehicles.

Makes sense. I kinda knew we didn't have the front sensors, but it would have been nice. If it was one or the other, then I'd rather have the 360 camera.

My US 2019 GT2 has the 360 camera and front sensors :)

I rather have the 360 camera

Mine has the sensors and 360 camera but they are both inactive unless manually selected when parking forward. Not too much of a big deal, just wondered if anybody else had them configured differently.

Thanks for the replies.

Mine once in a while will go off for no reason for a couple seconds. I usually don't hear it though, the sound system in this thing fixes a lot of problems :)

On my 2019 here in the US, the rear parking sensors are always active when reversing, but the front sensors only work when the "button" between the seat heat/cool controls is "on", i.e. the LED is lit. It stays "on" (or off) between starts.

I know this thread is kinda old, but the thing with the front parking sensors really bothers me at times... and I still haven't found out what causes them to activate or not, when I start up the car. (My stinger is the European diesel version by the way).

When I park at home and at work, I ALWAYS park in reverse. So as soon as I put my car in reverse, the 360 camera and both front and back sensors get activated. The light on the button for the front sensors automatically comes on when I do that. When I'm done parking, I set it to P (button for front sensors still on) and shut off the car.

When I come back to my car 10 hours later and start it up, I have found that the front sensors sometimes are ON, and sometimes NOT.
I really have not yet found what causes them to NOT go on at startup. At the moment I think the seatbelt has to be fastened, and then they go on. Still experimenting on this a little... Same thing when I get to my car in the morning.

I would really appreciate, if the sensors ALWAYS came on when I start the car. I don't need them to come on during traffic like many others (VW,...) do, because that would actually annoy me. But still... I would like to know why it sometimes does things and sometimes doesn't. I can't believe they've left this as a bug for years now as someone said earlier...

I don't know if it's related but on mine, the front sensors start yelling at me every time I start up the car because I am pulled into my garage close to a cabinet in front. The thing that's irritating is they do NOT go off when I pull in to park! It's almost like they only operate when in reverse..
