• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Eibach Sways & Springs

did you find the ride change much once you changed the sway bars? eg more stif over bumps?

reason i ask, my wife drives the car and with the baby in the back.
if she didnt drive it and no baby seat it would be sitting on the ground
With sway bars only fitted the ride does not change it only reduces/removes the twitchiness in the rear & cornering stability is greatly improved.

Do a search on the threads using the word “Eibach” there is a ton of discussions on the pros & cons of sways & springs.

No change if you just have sways ride is normal. Sways reduce the twitch when you put your foot down. I would stay away from springs tho.

Anyone considering just installing the rear sway only?

Great job Shannon, for clarity, I sent John another email as while we did communicate, we didn't tie my handle to my name.
So in your list pxbvic = Paul. Any one here can call me that it's not a secret, just didn't want the numbers obfuscated.

For those who want to know why the sway bars and what they do (high level not too technical): Eibach Sways & Springs

If you want to lower the car because that is your thing, then be mindful of the warranty situation and that the car is pretty low now and our roads in AU are pretty shit at the best of times.
Sway bars will not change the ride appreciably for a baby in a capsule, but spring most likely will.
I can't wait for my sway bars. A track day is calling.

totally understand this. ive had lexus's/amg's/wrx's all lowered.
what i want to know more about is when you change from comfort to sports now there is a difference in how the suspension changes
does it change much when you install the lowered springs or does it just remain the same in all modes

I cannot speak for the lowered springs, but the ride to me is much harder with sport mode over comfort mode. The springs will offer less travel and compliance in the suspension. it would only be firmer in sport mode I would think, but also in comfort it would be a little firmer also due to the less travel in the suspension.

For the stock car custom mode I have.
Engine/Transmission in Comfort - tame and easy to drive.
Steering wheel in Sport - much better feel/feedback.
Suspension in Comfort - less crashing on bad roads.

The reason is Melbourne roads are that bad, I get too much crashing from the adaptive shocks in sport mode (hard bound and rebound) on Melbourne city and suburban streets even speed bumps, so regardless of standard or lowered suspension sport is a hard ride to me. On the congested stop start commute or freeway I'm in Eco mode same suspension as Comfort, and on the open freeway I'm in full sport because the roads are smooth by comparison to inner city, and it's the only place I really get to play with the car.

Thanks @ShannonC sent delivery address through earlier today.

Received the following from John -
“Your order is now in our system, we will contact you for a deposit once the factory has completed production.”

Yesterday I was advised by John that our orders have been sent to the factory. We ended up with 12 participants.

Eibach springs lower the car but I'm not sure you get less travel because they do cut the bump stops about 30mm to allow for the lowered movement.

Eibach springs also have a variable spring rate meaning the first 10% or so is soft and compliant but as the coil is compressed it gets harder. This actually makes for better comfort and performance over stock.

The dampers are unchanged so to answer your question, you can still tell the difference between comfort, sport etc.. It's just like stock except 1" lower with slightly better small bump compliance.
