Happy Monday morning, once again I have put myself in a bad spot with this car. Watched the quick video of those kids (vivid visual) installing this kit.

So we put the car on ramps and have successfully completed the passenger side but the driver side is a nightmare. Anyone who has done primaries of any kind if you have any suggestions it would be awesome. Using a lift would make it a lot easier I assume. This is why I’m not a mechanic. Really discouraged atm.

I have no idea how those kids did it in their driveway, didn’t even use jack stands.

No issues that i remember. It was pretty easy tbh. Hardest part is removing the bumper. I did this in my driveway :)

Offf you are talking about the DPs not the FMIC lol. Ya have fun, this shit is a mofo. Driver side is a BITCHHHH! Spray down the bolts and take your time.

But also these were done in a driveway on ramps.

we used 2 people one to fish a long extension and wobble from the bottom and another to hold it on the top bolt closest to the engine that was the only one we had issues with because its just hard to get to. Agian, take your time and soak the bolts so they can break.

Did you go from underneath with a long extension and a wobly or from the engine bay? Only reason I attempted is because of that video. And he said it wasn’t that bad. If I only had 1700 mile arms right now lol

We did grab it from the bottom as we couldn't find an combination good enough to get it from the top. It takes time and a lot of PB to help.

Awesome thanks guys. I guess we will have to keep going

Its a real PITA, but you are saving a TON doing it on your own trust me. Just take your time and be patient. It will be frustrating. Grab a couch pillow to beat so you dont take it out on the turbos hahaha.

Lol! Yea at this point it’s worth paying someone ha. How many hours did it take you guys?

FYI I highly reccomend a helping hand, not sure if you one. That’s my first advise. To get the bolts on the driver a helper will do wonders. Find the right combo on extension and correct angle. Like the bears stated you use someone to align/hold it in place for you to torque it down. FYI you might have to loosen your motor mounts and raise the engine a bit to get better clearance when installing the new pipes. Do not get discouraged your are saving at least 700 bucks on labor. If you were close to me I would help you out in return for a medium well New York strip steak. All jokes aside take you time and do not strip a bolt, be very careful.

Well, got them on last night. What a nightmare it was even on a lift with specialty tools. Ended up buttoning it up and went over to my friends house and used his equipment and wrench turning abilities.

Post install I have to give the Ultimate Performance kit a 3 out of 5 stars. The fitment is horrible on the secondary pipes. Nothing like having your 50k gt2(no I didn’t pay nearly that for it) rattle like a dsm. Sound is good paired up to the magnaflow. Ill post some videos after I fix the rattling.
