• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

No, earlier in the week, you playing on PS4?
I'm on PC :p
I left work at 7pm and was probably on 111 ave around then. Was going to my community league meeting :P

I was thinking about getting a PC together.
Let me know... I've built a few rigs. I know you're not on facebook but I'm one of the admins on the PC builders Canada page there.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I'm just about done with the rocks on our roads. I've got a crack and probably 3 big rock chips. Got a new star chip last night on the henday. Sure wish I bought the windshield insurance because the cost of replacement is astronomical.

Man that sucks, I just got insurance on mine three weeks ago. Would recommend it to anyone with a modern car, it was $240 a year. It even covers the sunroof and other windows.

Worth it, a new windshield costs $2000

I luckily haven't gotten any cracks or major windshield chips but I do feel that our windshields are more susceptible to damage than numerous prior cars I have owned. I have a lot of little chips that I witnessed first hand as they happened and I'm surprised how bad they are considering the size of rock that hit the windshield. I leave a generous following distance because apparently we like to use boulders to keep the roads clear.

Our windshields are STILL $2000? I was hoping they'd go down by now.

That’s the cost of windscreens on most cars with today’s tech, I coated my windows to help it but, that’s not going to stop a rock. Need like a stone guard for this time of year.

I was told by the girl who installed my PPF that stone damage in Alberta (both to windshields and paint) is especially bad because the gravel they generate for road use is basically shattered rock with very sharp edges - not nice smooth, eroded pebbles like some other locales.

As she has a geology degree which isn't currently being put to productive use, and the sharp edges are quite evident, I believe her.

On the advice of my insurance broker, and knowing the cost of replacements, I got AMI glass coverage as separate cover from my insurance policy - based on prior experience I expect to make use of it. I'm already on my second Stinger windshield, having replaced the factory glass within weeks of buying the car last spring.

Yes last I checked, which was under a month ago.

The hard part in the process was having to drive to my insurance office praying that I don’t get any cracks or chips since they had to inspect the windows, lol. They set me up with AMI also.

Saw a black 3.3 driving towards me in Windermere last night. I was coming back from the car wash. You on here bro?

Wtf? $2000?? That cant be real, I just came from a Benz that had all the same tech in the windshield and it was like 350$ to replace the windshield.
If you want to confirm, call a local glass shop, and tell them you want a price on replacing a Stinger windshield. As a result of doing that, I added glass coverage to my initial Stinger insurance policy before I picked up the car. The policy was only a few weeks in duration as I wanted to synchronize my renewal dates.

I don't recall how much that short term extra glass coverage cost, I'm thinking around 20 dollars. Regardless, it was money well spent - the replacement windshield I had installed shortly thereafter, courtesy of a flying rock on the highway, was right around $1800.
