The Grand Tour Stinger video

Like voon I was pretty disappointed by how little James May actually spoke about the car. Sorry if that's "serious" but I can't recall the last car they did a taped piece on then just glossed over their actual impressions of it so much. The bit about racing the skateboarders was fun though, I just wanted about 30 more seconds of James actually describing his likes and dislikes. Especially James, who hates when cars are tested on the Nurburgring as he doesn't like how that translates to real-world comfort, I would think would have mentioned that it had been tested there and still provides a comfortable ride.

I was kinda disappointed with the clip on the episode too. Racing with skateboarders doesnt show ANY comparison to competition at all, which was what I was hoping for them to do, or even just mention from time to time. I really wanted them to do the full GrandTour/TopGear review complete with test track time with their new performance lady driver.

You have to see the whole segment as he does review the car. The Facebook clip I supplied only shows the race with the skateboarders, look at the full episode link I supplied.

I guess I hadn't even set my sights that high. I'd love to see the time, but since they've only had what, 13 episodes or so, the few times they have are mostly supercars so a 4,000 pound sedan would seem pretty slow by comparison, but it'd be a nice frame of reference. What I'm really hoping for is that the Stinger GT is included in Car & Driver's annual Lightning Lap around VIR, because that has years worth of data to compare it back to over a hundred cars.

Yup I watched the entire episode. He briefly compared it to the M3 and the S4 sportback. And for the price he compared to the Jag's I believe. He mostly listed the car's features and some stuff he liked, but not really what he disliked about the car, which is usually what Clarkson usually does in his segments. Maybe if it was a two- or three-segment feature. But why choose the Stinger over the Bugatti, right?

I wasn't expecting a comparison to competition much sicne it's a fun show and not going to do very serious, down to facts comparisons. but I'd have expected them to exchange a few words on it for a minute or two. Whatever those words would be.

This was a terrible "review" as I was genuinely interested in hearing about this car.

No mention of the gearbox, it's responsiveness, the ride quality, refinement, handling, braking, steering feel; any bad points? Actually any good points other than he loved the key fob? What about practicality?

Welcome aboard, @cupra_ahhh! Thank you for signing up. Yes, as @westcoastGT mentioned - it wasn't a review. Just entertainment, really...

Hi chaps, thanks for the replies. True, as entertaining as it was, I'm still expecting them to review cars like the old Top Gear. As mentioned already, this show is taking a different route with cars now.
