RaceChip GTS Black Initial Review

Anyone else with feedback on the racechip gts?
Weareblondi & ryan1stinger are the only members I know of that have the RaceChip.

They seem to be very happy with it and have only heard good things.

However, RC is simply a basic 2-channel piggyback which lacks a lot of benefits other chips offer. For example, JB4 & Lap3 ProTuner both offer fuel wires which adds AFR control good for another 20whp+.

On top of that the JB4 offers a full spectrum of real-time OBDII data logging which monitors everything in the engine. Besides the benefit of built in safety parameters, this also allows for further development and constant improvements with new firmware updates. They are now on version 8 which is light years ahead of all the competitions outdated offerings.

Lastly, as you see in this and other threads RC support & updates seems to have disappeared. However BMS is constantly interacting & helping members on a daily basis. Their customer support is unrivaled and even offer help fine tuning individual vehicles for maximum performance!

I’m not trying to take anything away from RC as it is a great product. However further research will show you why JB4 is the most advanced chip with the most available features. There is a reason why they are the #1 tune/piggyback for our Stingers.;)

Hope this helps and happy tuning no matter what option you choose.:D

Forum monitors - I think Terry hacked StungblueGTs account!
I had the Race Chip also and sold mine to Weareblondi. RC is good for those that want 90% of the power of the jb4 with out the wanting to do logging, 8 firmware updates extra wires and additional settings and tweeking or reducing boost in some gears.
Jb4 is for those that want 90% of the power of an ECU tune but want to be able to remove it easily.

Most JB4 customers never log or do anything other than install the system and enjoy. It's only you crazy guys trying to get every last .01th in the 1/4 mile list that are in to that stuff. And we're happy to oblige!

I agree with stung, but, being that the stinger that I purchased for the mrs is really for the mrs (damn, I hate that I admitted that) I didn't see the need for a serious in depth tune for the stinger. on our other cars, or, if the stinger was mine, I would go for either of the other two tuners. mrs wanted some more power, but didn't want to go that crazy. she has driven my both my amg e and my z06. it was an fruitless effort in trying not to lose traction. I am rooting for all the tuners in getting the most power out of the stinger. but, I and the more importantly, the mrs is happy with her racechip black. thanks tonka!

You notice the extra power with the RC GTS?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

very much so. just make sure you change the plugs. I didn't and blew out a couple of coil packs

Cool. I was just going to regap the existing plugs. Or should I buy new plugs?

yes, definitely yes

Either will work. Most just use the better Denso Iridium plugs if they’re already going through the trouble of changing them.

Both, HKS and Denso will do their job. We made great experiences with HKS, but we also never had customers with negative experiences with the Denso plugs. Denso is more bang for your buck.

Regarding the "what is the best product" discussion, I encourage everyone to do their own research an think about what they actually need and want. You'll also realize that the only people talking negative about RaceChip are competitors and people that are NOT RaceChip customers.

Regarding the installation, we just made a new video:
There are enough good videos about the spark plug install, so we did not explain that part in detail.

Are there any numbers to comapare with other chips that have been dyno'd? I understand there's always variables involved but for example Unichip claim:

Standard: 220 Rear wheel kw at 5500rpm
Unichip: 282.1 Rear wheel kw at 5500rpm.

An amazing 75 rwkw increase at 5200rpm

Cheers,

Cheers,

I can not comment on claims of other companies and how they prove it and guarantee that is safe. I can just speak for RaceChip.

RaceChip initially promised +57 HP in February 2018. Dyno chart:

This RaceChip customer got +63 HP
Link: https://stingerforum.org/threads/ra...ger-gt-and-future-gtr.3785/page-10#post-52448

In November 2018, an other RaceChip customer got +73 WHP with 101 octane

As you already said, there are always variables. Furthermore, it is not all about peak HP. Most of the time, we are not driving at 6000, 5500 or 5200 rpms, so I always encourage people to not only look at peak HP. The way the power gets released along the whole rpm range is important. RaceChip has a very smooth power delivery along the whole rpm range, because RaceChip invested a lot of time to offer the ultimate driving pleasure and not only a nice peak number people can show to their buddys. There are a few good tunes available. I always encourage people to test it and build their own opinion. At least, RaceChip is confident that they offer an awesome product. If not, RaceChip would not offer a 30 days money back guarentee and does not charge restocking fees like others...

Cool, who do I send it back to when mine finally arrives. Rubbish local dealer who I've paid or racechip directly? I'm going to order a JB4.

The testing period is meant for testing the product. Why would you order something and return it without testing. Please send feedback to support@racechip.us about dealers you are not happy with and the US team will make sure that the German HQ will get it. We don't want to work with dealers that do not meet customer expectatons.
The contract is between you and the dealer, so you will have to approach him. I don't know his terms and conditions or whether he takes it back (RaceChip has thousands of dealers in 135 countries). I just know that you have a 30 days money back guarentee when ordering from www.racechip.com and www.racechip.us RaceChip encourages their dealers to offer the same service, but they can't force them.

I just want to hook my stuff up and enjoy the hard work of the crazy guys...

Because I ordered and paid for a gts back on the 30th Jan and am still waiting. .I haven't even got an invoice. And I only got tracking info last week after I got in touch with racechip on Facebook and the local dealer. Very useful as now I get updates on delivery delays from Germany which has nothing to do with racechip but if that's the kind of local support I get, I'd rather buy something with a better support community.
