Has anyone dynoed after full bolt on's and no tune? Cai, do, exhaust, IC? I've looked but only found one or the other.

Any reliability issues as of yet?

I can't answer the question, but you raise an interesting point. In my last car (Lexus ISF), the ECU responded really well to headers and octane with no tune. I hadn't even considered that on this car. I guess because there is so much more to be gained with a piggyback. It will be interesting to see how the car responds to bolt-ons minus a tune.

I had a wrx before and everyone in those forums was dead set against even a Cai without a tune for fear if engine damage.
So far I added a Cai and I'm ordering the ssr dp tonight. I plan on an ic and exhaust as well as soon as I find the right one. I wanna know what range that will put me in.

I'm almost there. Already done CAI K&N, next week will do a custom Exhaust by JBL, Intercooler by UP and BOV by UP in a week or two Once completed I'll let you know. Will do the Racechip soon though.

Please do. Really wanna know if it's worth it without a tune.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
FWIW... Using draggy information, I picked up 3 mph in the quarter mile by bolting on SSR downpipes, no other mods.

Im interested in this as well.

I still haven't put anything on my car yet but have the CAI ordered and am waiting for that to at least get shipped before I order the ssr downpipes.

I want to see how much difference downpipes and CAI make before going further.

A lot of the manufacturers have done "stock" vs "their part" dyno comparisons, but I usually take their numbers with a grain of salt. 9 hp from an intake on a stock car? I wish.

My $.02... bolt that ish on. If you want to maximize the potential of those bolt-ons, then do some sort of tune that gives you some more boost and control over A/F ratios at least.

AEM Claims 23ft# from their intake, SSR claims a whopping 30hp across the board. I could definitely see that with a tune, without I'm pretty skeptical.

I'd definitely like to maximize the potential by throwing a jb4 on there, however there's also been stories of blown turbos on this board on completely stock cars. I have 3k on the clock and i'd like to keep my warranty at least until there's significant feedback on mod reliability/limits. This car is still my DD.

I believe I've only heard of two. One had a blown turbo before they put on the JB4 and the other had a blown turbo with the JB4 but the car had really low miles and could have been defective from the factory.

Both were replaced under warranty I believe.

Generally excepted for a 12 second car is 10-11rwhp to gain 1mph or one tenth in et. (The quicker the car, the more hp is necessary) I can confirm a 3mph increase in trap speed with no other mods other than the downpipes.
...and yes, you can tell the difference. Traction is now a major issue.

I agree with this. Mid-pipes are the best bang for the buck bolt-on available for the Stinger. The CAI helped with throttle response and pulls better at higher RPM's but I wouldn't put too much $$ into one. BOV and exhaust add noise.

For daily driving, there are only two bolt-on's needed for performance in my opinion. Mid-pipes and a CAI.

Then a JB4 with the fuel wires.

And i guess if you consider a catch can a performance bolt-on then that as well so that your performance is there long-term.

Don't forget to change your spark plugs.....

Have u gotten a CEL from running the downpipes with no tune?

Those are the midpipe that people call downpipes. It cuts out the secondary which doesnt have a O2 sensor.

I've read through the SSR thread and everyone says no but I'd like to see how many miles someone has gone without getting a CEL. I'm about to order a dp and i'm on the fence.

There are no O2 sensors on secondary cats. These are not primary downpipes.

This is the confusion with the community calling these damn midpipes downpipes lol Down pipes should be the pipes that COME DOWN from the turbo. we need a Sticky for lingo used here lol.

You will not get a CEL with the DPs, neither short nor long term, definitely. The new OBD II system comes without post catalytic converter's oxygen sensors, so the ECU do not receive information about the exhaust gases and therefore you can make the change.
Obviously, this exchange, it is not eco friendly....

Like everyone has stated, nope no check engine light. Nothing weird or strange. It is slightly louder, especially on a cold start. Nothing objectionable. (My wife hasn't noticed yet). Just a bit more growl... Very happy with them! I do wonder if it will pass the emissions sniffer test. My 95 Formula LT1 would pass emissions with no cat at all...as long as it was warmed up.

Plugs and JB4 with fuel wires in hand, just no time to install them. If anything strange happens, I'll report back.
