Hi just joined forum yesterday and was anxious to reply to a few posts in the map updates discussion but I keep getting an error saying new members can't post immediately because of security issues. Was just wondering when that timeframe expires to allow me to participate?
It's a bit frustrating writing your post only to get the error when I try to post, would be better generating the error as soon as I press 'Reply' which would save my frustrations a bit.
Thanks for any help you can give

Sorry for the trouble. As a brand new member, you have access to post in any discussion. The only time there's a hold-up is if there's a link or an attachment in your message. We've had malicious people sign up only to post links to webpages with viruses and/or attach pictures that people here don't want to see. So it's a security precaution - a necessary evil - to disallow that type of thing for brand new members. But simple posts with nothing else in them - you should not be having a problem...

Hi. If you want to become a "Member" (and get rid of new or newish), you have to post a certain number of times; then all issues with links or pics goes away forever. :)

Thanks for that, good over here weather not quite so extreme as you've been having.

As crazy as it may sound, even when a new member replies to a message with images or attachments, it gets the same treatment. I don't like this - and I think it should be fixed in the software. A new version is coming soon and I hope they've addressed this...
