The question is in the title.
I have not heard any feedback yet from anyone trying out the coilovers from this reknown manufacturer. :)

I considered coil overs, but the lower ride quality is worth it to me. I dont think I know who this manufacture is either.

KW is a good brand. Known in the euro community.

Also coilovers don’t have to be spun down all the way. You can leave them at the same height as springs but gain adjustability in dampening and rebound.

I guess, i just dont know enough. I had a great deal on a set, but every where I read up on coil overs said you sacrifice comfort for the adjustability and sustainability of the suspension.

Coilovers are much more comfortable than springs on stock struts in my experience. I've used KW and Koni before and have had fantastic results

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I'm familiar with KW's on European cars, do they make suspensions for the Stinger?

I'll wait until somebody makes a better EDC setup for our cars. I like having ride control at the twist of a knob.

KW is a excellent brand, been around for a long time and highly reputable

I currently have them on my z32 and they are fantastic.

The general consensus that coilovers will ruin the ride quality and that the car will be almost touching the floor is wrong. Coilovers have a wide range of adjustments and the KW's are one of the best coilover in the business. If you know how to set them up properly you will not sacrifice your ride quality.

Ran a set of Teins on a Celica GTS and it made the ride more predictable and overall better.

I found some info on them when I was looking around today, pricey for the setup. I’m hoping someone can figure out the tuning of the shocks and get them adjusted so those of us that want to, can have the ride quality close to the G70. How the G70 feels in it’s Comfort setting is better than the Stinger’s Sport setting. I’m fairly sure they use the same shocks but with different tuning. That would negate the need for me, and others to spend money on after market parts to achieve that. I’d pay a small fee to get that tune. Heck, they should give us options to do the settings ourselves so we can choose. Maybe we should pettion KIA for that.

KW is as good as it gets. Had them on some of my Benzs. Whats the price?
$3K in Korea with the canceler. (incl. labor)
Google tells me its around $2500 in the US but parts only I guess.
Definitely not on the cheap side!

there is a big Tuning guy in Germany (JP-Performance (JP Krämer)). In his opinion the KW V3 is one of the best coilover sets you can buy.

If I remember cotrrectly it's 3 way adjustable and it's the second best street legale set they build. there is a V4 but I think that's 2times the Money.

If you want to go to the track with you stinger I would say it's one of the best Options for you

About these KW’s...

To my knowledge, they are only available for AWD Stinger and G70 models.
No RWD version yet.

KWV3 are indeed good kit. I ran them on my ‘15 Bmw 535i Msport.
On that vehicle, they provided excellent ride isolation from the road. I ran them at stock height and up to
2 inches lower and the ride was always smooth and free from harshness. They truly rode BETTER than the BMW factory setup. Their ability to swallow bumps and potholes was superb.

However, after months of “tuning” no setting was discovered that removed a slight vertical bounce/float of the front end over various road surfaces. The back end was perfect, tightly suspended over all roads without any detectable bounce or vertical movement. This made it feel like the front and rear suspensions were not in synch. The front always slightly bobbed up and down like an old Lincoln Towncar. I bought the KW’s to remove his sensation but they did not.

In defense of the KW’s, the stock BMW suspension had the same float up front. So did the Koni Sports and stock springs that I replaced the KW’s with (although the Koni’s floated less).

I say this to say, even though the KW’s are highly adjustable and are a stout product, we don’t know how they are tuned for the Stinger yet. Bad tuning can ruin a good product. Time will tell. As it turned out, regular Koni Sport shocks were just as good, even better in some areas, for a fraction of the cost. Of course the Konis did not offer lowering though, unless you paired them with lowering springs.

Back to the Stinger, chassis wise, the biggest issue is lack of body control. There is simply too much up/down movement of the front and rear suspensions on anything but smooth roads. A setup that doesn’t quell these motions is, for the lack of a better word, fail. Before dropping big bucks for KW’s on this platform, I’d want to be sure that they do indeed induce a flat and controlled ride. The KW name on its on does not guarantee this.

Patiently awaiting reviews from someone who will/has tested them...

I’ve got a few ideas for tightening the Stingers body control, but I’ll start a new thread after I do a bit more testing and research. Stay tuned because I’m working on it.

I really need to go drive a G70, as I hear they are damped much better than our Stingers.
Those shocks/struts will fit perfectly and should tighten up our rides quite nicely, if my hunch is correct.

I’ve also been looking at Stinger part #’s. Australian, Euro, and North American Stingers all have specific suspension tuning. All the parts are the same, with the difference being different shocks, springs and EDC when applicable.

I’d imagine we get the softest tuning here in the USA. The Euro and Australian models should be more controlled. Are they firm enough? I don’t know yet. But at least we know we can tailor the ride quality by utilizing various components from the global Stinger parts bin.

In Korea the Stinger suspension is stiffer than the G70. Go figure. :D

That is interesting...
Can you tell me a little about your Stinger and how it rides?

First, do you have the passive or active damper system?
Secondly, does your Stinger bounce at the front or rear over bumps and dips?
Or does the body stay pretty flat and level over bumps and terrain?

1)Active damper system
2) My Stinger also bounces over bumps in corners.
I read most threads of the forum about the Stinger suspension and my guess is that my car settings are the same as the US version and the G70 is set very softly here for Korean people who expect more of a luxury vehicule than a sporty one from the Genesis brand.
