Hey everyone!

G70 owner here but a big fan of the Stinger!! The two cars have a lot in common and this forum has lots of activity, so I thought it would be a great source of info!

I'm from Winnipeg, Canada if any of you are from this area.

welcome ! spent lots of time there ! Lots of relatives in the Brandon/ Minnedosa area too ! keep us posted on the car . Congrats !!

Welcome and congrats in the car!

Awesome car (...too). Wish they'd release it in aus already, be 2 years old when Genesis get's here. What was your main reason(s) choosing it over a Stinger? No judgements, just wondering as I may never have the chance to compare them.

I actually didn't know much about the Stinger when I got the G70. What attracted me to the G70 was that Genesis offered full concierge service for 5 years, it's from the Hyundai group so it'll be reliable, handles really well, fast, great price and the list goes on..

I did go and check out the Stinger after I got my car and it's really a great car. I think some will be attracted more to the Stinger and others to the G70. Can't go wrong either way and it's a great opportunity to learn from each platform!

Here's a couple pics...

Cheers for that. Great pics. Looks fantastic. Rear quarters look very last model bmw 3 series like. Overall a bit more conservative styling than the Stinger, which is obviously the aim and appealing for their target buyers (you!). The platform sharing has certainly allowed us to get into true world-class cars.
All the best.

Both cars are great, there are just meant for different needs. Hope you love yours!

I love the G70. The side profile and the rear are more classic then the Stinger. However the front and interior is where it falls apart for me. The front looks like a guppie fish and the interior is too small for me.

All in all, they are similar and I'm glad the G70 exists. They will develop off one another and hopefully morph into a M vs AMG battle that is historic.

Welcome to the board! Great group of people on this forum. One of the only "premium car" forums where people aren't always having a measuring contest.

I think the Stinger is a sexy beast all around, especially the back and the G70, while ok looking, doesn't stand out looks wise, IMO

The Stinger is gorgeous. 85% of the Stinger I love, the rear is still growing on me and it's a bit funky. The G70 has a better butt in my eyes (classic look). The rear of the Stinger is a little to "for today only". If you look at the first gen A7 or Panamera they just look beyond dated. Look at an W211 E Class, timeless!

Agree to disagree on the rear of the Stinger. I like that the Stinger doesn't have a classic look ;-)

I actually fell in love with the G70 and started telling people that it would be my next car. Then I found out about the Stinger and decided that I had to check it out. The cargo space, interior room, and styling were the clinchers for me.

Either way, congrats on your choice. Enjoy it and enjoy all of the knowledge available on this forum. Some great people here!

There's a lot to like about both cars. Styling is subjective and of course, I love how the G70 looks. I really like the silver finish side mirrors on the Stinger. I also like the rear end tails and quad exhaust.

Is there a coles notes on what kinda things are popular to do with the Stinger? Anyone autocross?

Could not have said it better. I think the G70 is a classic design with edgy cues where as the Stinger is more edgy and will be one of those cars in the future that has a cult following, but never really struck the mainline buyer stage. I like that about the Stinger.

I think a limited amount of members track their Stingers/G70's. They are new, and I'm not sure people have gotten around to risking them on the race track yet (circuit, not drag racing).

I plan on taking mine on a few track days this Spring/Summer. I love doing that stuff and plan on picking up another policy that covers the vehicle on the track

I've been poking around the forum and wow does the 3.3T make big power with the aftermarket tunes! Is this motor able to handle big power long term?

seriously looked at both a G70 and a G80 sport before settling on a Stinger GT... happy so far...

oh and I have two kids... the Stinger has more space in the back than the G70....

That's great! Glad you like the Stinger and it would certainly be a good choice with two kids! The G70 has adequate back seat space but nothing more. The Stinger hatch would also be perfect for a young family, strollers, bags etc.
