Ding ding ding ...Round two of warranty work

Yes tray that attached under engine. Dealer didn’t attach it well and it flew off on drive home after my first warranty repairs on the car. So they replaced with new one.
Was it the front one or the one under the oil pan?

Will be interesting to see how many other Stingers with sunroofs have issues eventually. My car has been over lots of mountain roads and is nearing 17000 miles. I may have accelerated an issue that some may see as they put more miles as my sunroof was quiet and really didn't start to rattle and squeak until after about 12000 miles. And got progressively worse with time.

I saw those pics you posted last week of you throwing your Stinger around the cones. You have your sunroof open in one of them. Bad, bad boy! ;) That could help with any sunroof noise issues.

Open or closed, the sunroof is not a structural component.

The sunroof may not be structural but I have a unconfirmed theory on that.
It seems the sunroof frame seems to be the issue, now with the sunroof open its quite a large opening, then you have this big heavy chassis twisting etc while going through corners and bumps it seems reasonable to me that this could warp the frame. Of coarse this should have been engineered to with stand any twisting induced by the chassis.
I haven't done many kms but if I'm driving hard or on really bad roads I shut the roof. Not a peep so far.
Sucks either way.

I'm sure it is . my car had door ticking , I had twisting/ creaking sounds going up twisting driveways and my sunroof was creaking all the time .................Until they replaced the sunroof frame . The whole car feels stiffer , quieter and all the creaking and ticking has disappeared , even the sound system sounds better ...................

That was probably least stressful of all things sunroof is exposed to over its life. Perfectly flat surface and smooth cement surface (helicopter pad) and never got over 55 mph and did couple 40 second runs with sunroof open.

I wonder why there have been so many issues with the Stinger sunroof ? I have a Platinum Optima with a Panoramic Sunroof had the car nearly 6 years, done over 125,000 kms with no issues at all.

They should do what Toyota is doing. Virtual sunroof.

This is what I am talking about when forum discussions are used to determine the extent of issues. Sunroof complaints have garnered a puny number of posts compared to paint or even hatch noises.

I take it from your comment, there have been " minimal issues" with Said Sunroof. My mistake, I retract my first comment.Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers.

Yeah that to me says it’s more an issue that happens over time rather than a delivery quality issue. My rear hatch rattled very early on and had standard fix early on. Suspect my many miles over twisty roads stressed weak design.

The sunroof thing will get resolved over time as they find out about issues, they will come up with fixes or redesign it to eliminate issues over the life of the vehicle or any other vehicle they plan on using it in. Some folks have to have the issue first in order for the fix to be developed, it's annoying to be the one with the issue though.

One would hope that a quality manufacturer would do that right? I have owned a lot of cars with sunroofs this one by far is worst problem I have ever experienced and after two fix attempts its still rattling away.
