I have a GT2 with AWD. I am wondering if I get it tuned at Pressertech, do you think it would be better to have the tune with the comfort suspension (softer suspension mode- squats easier) and with the 50/50 power split that you get in the comfort mode (vs sport 20 front/ 80 rear)? Wouldn't this be better then the sport mode for Drag Racing (at the track of course)?

I would say no. The rear is already much softer than the front. If you are modifying the car it’s going to transfer the weight easier. Rear biased is better for drag racing. I’m sure some of these guys know more and or can explain this more in detail.

FYI power split is 40/60 in comfort mode.

Thank you for the input. So we have comfort mode 40/60, sport mode 20/80, ECO mode X/X? Can I assume that all the tuning options (JB4, Tork, Pressertech, Lap3...etc) do not change the front and rear power splits?

Can also assume the people with lowest 1/4 mile times are running 18" wheels? I would think that the 19" or 20" would we have too small of a tire rubber profile to flex.

I have never seen an offical from KIA power split information. I just took my numbers for posts I have seen in the past. Honestly I not sure why this information is not readily available.

Motortrend:
“In normal driving situations, Stinger's default Comfort mode sends up to 40 percent of engine torque to the front wheels. Push the button for Sport mode and the number drops 20 percent to make Stinger behave more like a rear-wheel-drive vehicle.”

I’m sure if you dig around you’ll find more sources I just did a quick Google search.

I dont think 18 or 19 matters for the awds but the 19 summers are going to grip better than the 18 all seasons. I have 19s running dragy 11.78 and never spin when the road is dry even at 32 degrees. Tracton just isnt an issue yet.

Tonkabob, that is good to know. High 11s and not spinning that is impressive. For a street car, that is got to feel great. I would be happy with 12s in a daily driven comfortable car. I don't want a harsh suspension, useless wheel spin, fishtailing...etc. I like it to feel and sound as stock as possible.....a sleeper type of car.

Are you running the Michelin 4? Same width as OE?
