3.3TT Agency Power Intake Initial Review and Install Video

If you don’t want noise, keep your stock air boxes. You will have noise with aftermarket intakes.

However I don’t hear much noise in eco with the radio on. I only hear it when I stomp on the gas or have the radio off, and never while cruising.

It’s a tough call for me the way I have my car setup right now with k&n panel filters full jun evc exhaust and jb4 I can click a couple buttons and the car is like stock again and I love that. I think I need to get a draggy and really see how much 0-60 times go against others with intakes to see if it’s worth it.

Would you guys say this is the best intake on the market? I’m interested in a intake but I don’t want the extra noise. How loud do you guys find these? I have the k&n panel filters at the moment.
Guys we need to stop with all this I don’t want noise but I want to mod my car ... All these oxymorons are killing me guys ... If you don’t want extra noise then don’t mod the intakes at all leave them stock and that goes for the rest of the car as well ..... Now in my opinion these are my personal favorite intakes on the market , even thou some have had minor issues but that’s with any intake .....I would reccomend these intakes to anyone .... The sound for me is great , it’s a good sound and the only time the sound is honestly noticible is when I am on sport mode and I drive the car like I stole it .... when I am cruising I honestly don’t think it will bother you ... Sound is minimal .... But again if sound is a concern of yours leave car stock .... Hope this helps and sorry for the honesty ....

I say go for it. If you don't like it, you'll be able to sell it here in the classifieds with ease.

Testing from other members with an aftermarket intake show 0-60 gains of a tenth or even two and you'll notice a difference in throttle response. The K&N panels don't provide any added surface area over the stock ones whereas the majority of aftermarket conical filters are going to increase that filter area and improve performance.

I’m not against all sound per say hence I did full exhaust on my stinger. I just find the bov sound to be cheesy. In my area everyone and the dog has a loud bov sound mod on there car including turbo sprints. When I was in my 20s I had hks blowoff valves running over 30psi of boost. Now that’s a bov sound I can listen too. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

To be honest the BOV sound is barely noticeable on the Stinger with an intake, unless you're letting off throttle completely during full boost of course... Because of the automatic trans boost is held through shifts so there's nothing to 'blow off'

I'm sure you wouldn't like it if people were trying to tell you what to do with your car. Everyone has personal preferences, if someone wants to make their car faster but not louder, they should go for it. No one can tell someone else what to do to their car, with the exception of the government lol oh and the wife of course, can't forget her

Yea I recirculate back into the intakes and unless I really push it, I can hardly hear it, I doubt anyone else outside will

I am with you sir ... I agree with you as well ... let’s be clear I didn’t tell him what to do or don’t do....but I did say if your concerned about noise don’t mod the dawn car lol .... it’s like saying oh I want to swim but not get wet ....then don’t Focking swim.... or Hey I want to buy a V8 but I don’t want to waste gas and get good gas mileage .... then don’t focking buy a V8 ..... dude you get my point right .....that’s was my point ... I hope it makes sense to you ....I didn’t mean to offend him or you by my statement it’s just the oxymorons drive me crazy...if your fully concerned about warranty then don’t mod your car or be prepared to take the mods off before dealer visits .... This is a real life example I had with My wife yesterday.
The wife tells me the other day:
My wife “ hey babe we need groceries but I don’t want to drive to the store “
Angel “well walk there or take a plane there .. or call an Uber”
My wife “ well I don’t want to spend money on Uber”
Angel “ well Biachhhh then drive there WTF”
This is a real life example hope it helps with my point , thanks Doel for the response...

These are loud imo. Radio off I can hear as soon as I get any boost at all. The spool sound is audible even at 1 pound of boost and I hear blowoff every gear change.

You should definitely be able to hear the spool sound but boost won't drop during shifts on these cars. There shouldn't be blowoff sounds unless you let off the gas

Or the ecu closes the throttle for you....

It depends what 'best' means to you - likely a mix of looks, sound, durability, ease of installation, and performance.

If you are looking for an answer specifically on performance, nobody can say - because there are no head-to-head testing results between intakes available, and the manufacturer claims and/or dyno results have most of them showing modest increases in the 10-20 HP range. Difference between testing methodologies, dynos, car modifications, and atmospheric conditions makes comparing their published dyno results pretty much useless.

I believe that if you are going to add other modifications to the car, then adding intakes makes sense as 'most' will allow for increased airflow. Other than choosing a product I thought had a well engineered design (Injen), I went with what I thought looked best - sometimes those go hand in hand.

I can tell you through multiple run testing, my intakes took .2 off of my 0-60 over stock. It seems almost all of the available intakes that get air from anywhere besides the stock snorkel do, including DIY. 10-20 hp sounds right, but the responsiveness means a bit more in 0-60 and 1/4 than that. Dynos aren't everything in being fast. Pick what you like from the non airbox intakes and you'll likely be happy.

0ne tip for those installing. I ran across a small issue of my own doing. Drivers side. I didn't get the angle quite right on the pipe and the cover was pushing the filter off the end of itself... even when tightened down properly.
Solution for me was to rotate the coolant hose counter clockwise (looking at the car) about 45 degrees to allow the pipe to be more upright. It gave me more than an inch of gap between the hose and the intake also, which is good.

Again, not a product issue but one that I caused by not tightening down things in the right order. Though, i think rotating that hose ends up being a great way to give you more room on that side either way.

I had the same problem.

Like others, driver side hood isn’t flush.

Will go back and try to crank the two mounting bolts (but the metal sleeve sort of prevents that).

Maybe removing that is my solution. (Don’t remember if others suggested. Too tired to go through this whole thread to find out).

Also, no matter how I place/tighten the drivers filter to the tube, the damn things starts to slide off.

Gonna hit all contact points with some rubbing alcohol... but any suggestions?

Haven’t had an issue with the tube, but I like the idea of removing the metal sleeve. I’m about to go to bed because I work tonight but I’ll try that tomorrow too.

I removed the metal sleeve and the rubber gromet.....i just left the bare plastic and that helped me even thou its not fully flush but it helped....i am going to go this morning and fully tighten those screws again to see if it helps

I guess it looks like 3 people are having this issue to varying degrees. I wonder if anyone else is. I wouldn’t have thought to look unless I had read all of this thread.

I looked at the install guide. Figured “meh... I’ve done intakes before... this will be a 30 minute job”.

F me. I must be a neanderthal because my hands are bloody, it took me like 3.5 hours... had issues with one of the clamps they gave.... had issues everywhere with clearance/angles/fitment.

Oh and halfway dropped a socket AND and socket wrench (separately) into the depths of the engine bay.

The socket I was incredibly lucky to see it from the underneath of the car on one of the aero panels. Was able to bend the panel to get the socket.

The socket wrench (small one) I could see... but no way get near. Luckily I had a yard stick and some rare earth magnets and tape. Jerry rigged a “save my ass” tool.

I’m old. And tired. And hurt now.

And I do also have the passenger BOV recirc kink. Not nearly as bad as others. I’m leaving it as is.

At least it sounds friggin awesome and my butt dyno approves.
