Lets talk tuning, piggy back vs ECU flash.

Nice man .... The least you can do update you signature lol ..... ohh I see that you did

oh cry me a river lol .... please stop acting like you are a victim here .... don’t play the victim role please .... you have insulted Terry and others plenty of time here on this forum alone when they don’t agree with you ....I would not say there would never be OBD Tunning lol never say never lol I am sure you found that out quickly lol with the fuel module ..... Again let me keep it together ..... you see the difference between you and Terry is that when people don’t agree with you you straight tell them to F off ... when people don’t agree with Terry he responds with knowledge and kindness .... great example is Bears for life had his confrontation with Terry on differences of opinion .... and you know what Terry did when he asked him to include the IAT wires he just gave it to him for free ... he didn’t have to do that .... that’s the difference .... now I am not hating these are facts that are all documented here on the forum .....

can you please show where we have insulted Terry and others? Kindness? I would like you to look at all of terrys posts where he has called everyone in the stinger community naive amongst other things.

I am out lol I am not about to dig thru old threads just prove a point I think with the fuel module findings has been enough for today lol .... You guys have went at each other to be fair .... just please don’t play the victim role here .... let’s support each other and how about respecting each other’s opinion for right or wrong and not push people away just because they don’t agree with you .... let’s push the stinger plataform and respect each other’s craft ...

I look at the logs from two more 11 second passes from yesterday and am still happy with my choice of going ECU tune and that my tuner and the ECU knows what is going on.

It’s a nice log, what is the logging rate vs JB4’s. I wonder if being slightly slower smooths the graph?

Less timing increases, I’d love to have seen the tune used as a base for the Pure Turbo set-up.

Tim, what OBD2 adapter are you running for your logging? I assume you are also exporting CSV log from torque app and formatting in excel?

Its .2 seconds like most the jb4 customers have been posting lately. This log can also go .1 but doesn't seem to actually refresh that fast so i stay with .2.

Panlong $10.98 on amazon and the Torque app. Yes i just open the CSV in excel and make the chart and flip the RPM to the right axis. Only takes a few mins.

Might I recommend the Kiwi 4 by PLX devices. It's a way faster adapter and it will support a faster sampling rate. Make sure torque app is set to fast communication for best sampling rate. Those 10 dollar ELM adapters are not really the best for high rate logging.

You've got to get a better logging tool going there. Just use a JB4 with TMAP only attached on map0 for pass through, will automatically record nice logs with all the relevant data. Works in the back ground so you can keep dragy in the foreground if you like.

It's not going to have cyl2-6 and the other non-generic parameters. Half of these generic OBDII tools don't even log bank2 stuff properly, let alone separate manifold boost from pre-throttle boost.

i usually make a second zoomed in graph by pulling out, throttle, and IAT so i can zoom on boost and ignition like this. Same run as above.

And JB4 doing the same treatment. Even both at .2 JB4s RPM line is smoother so probably faster sample rate, where mine occasionally repeats an RPM value. So faster sampling would smooth mine out more.

Thanks for the tip. How is the Kiwi 3? I'm not finding the Kiwi 4 for sale.

I agree that the jb4 is the superior logging tool. I have a kiwi 3 that I've never used on the stinger because the jb4 samples faster and formats everything automatically, let alone the new pids you've added.

Whose dogshit log is that and why are they filling their gas tank with 5 year old gas siphoned from a broken down moped...

A real benefit is that you can set the app to log full time in the background and filter only wide open throttle activity in seconds. Which means you can do a run, pull over, view the run in a chart on your phone, change something if you want, do another one, repeat, then email your self all the CSV files from the app, and view them in the JB4 windows interface if you want to really zoom in and do detailed post-race analysis. Or email them to BMS tech support and we can open them in 5 seconds in the windows interface formatted and filtered ready to provide feedback.

Exactly what I do. If you never go full throttle unless launchin or pulling 3rd-4th it's super easy to grab them. You can also select multiple logs and email em all at once!

Exactly how I use it. It's honestly worth the cost just for logging if you're serious about monitoring and ensuring the safety of your tuning. I really wish the piggyback haters understood this.

Eh.... That's pretty freaking step when you can get what Tonka has for 20 bucks? I mean that's quite a large difference.

I don't think I'd buy one just for logging. The cost takes into account the tune obviously, and it just isn't an effective purchase for JUST logging.

Also, just because I have one. Here's the same map before the costco gas.122018_Map2.webp

Obviously no launch, but man it really did a number....

Looks like a cool product. Most ECU guys don't even need to log except for piece of mind. Set it and forget it. Since i am testing i do. The kiwi 3 is 4x faster vs 8x faster and is $89. But the 4 has sd card and accelerometer.
I've had 3 piggybacks and 3 ecu tunes for what its worth. Only blown a hole in my piston once. ;)

Let me point out that the X axis is skewed on JB4 log compared to the others.... both logs dip as much it’s just amplified on the JB4 log....

Actually it’s the Y axis. My fault.
