Does anyone know what the cheapest way is to upgrade to a GT model (base GT)? I currently have the 2.0T. I was fine with it for some time, but dealing with some remorse due to thirst for power and speed! Lol. Also wish the chassis was stiffer.

Your dealer might be able to get you into something for a reasonable amount. I know that one dude from Cincinnati on here was in the same position and traded his 2.0T in for a GT for a really good price. I can tell you that it's worth the upgrade :)

You might get a good deal on a 2018 left over, on the 2019, it won't be so good.

Thanks guys.

Yes. I'll be looking into 2018. But the thought of another sales tax hit and first year depreciation on my current car (10,000 miles) is hard to digest haha. Ugh why did I go with fuel economy when getting luxury sport sedan...

If you're going to fault the chassis, get a different model altogether; the chassis is identical from Base Stinger to GT2. The Stinger chassis is already stiff.
stinger bones.webp

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Probably another candidate for sway bars and possible lowering springs.

Oops. What I meant to say was the suspension, not chassis. Also not exactly a "fault" but more of a "nice to have." Mainly interested in the power and speed in a V6 configuration.

Ahah. There is discussion about Eibach sway bars going in a couple of threads. I have the rear sway bar on order. That is the single most important priority if you are pursuing a stiffer suspension.

Oh nice! Good to hear. Please do share your experience with the sway bar when you get the chance. Interested.

I have a RWD GT and I think it's barely peppy especially for being so heavy (3,990 lbs). I can imagine the 3.3l GT being quicker than the 2.0l, but if you were in search for something quick and powerful, the GT is not it.

The chassis between the two is the same, however the suspension calibration is likely different. Did you mean to say the suspension was stiffer?

I think you're confusing "GT" with "Premium". All three GT trims have the 3.3TT. The Premium and Base Stinger have the 2.0T.

what he's saying is the GT (which he has) isn't fast. Apparently 0-60 in 4.6, with max of 167 mph and able to get the torque rolling under 1500 RPM just isn't fast enough for a GT type car :)

Yes! That's what I meant to say haha. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm also curious how the V6 feels. The acceleration time (~4.6 vs ~6.0) shows clear translation of the ~100 hp incremental power. Just beating myself over the head right now, so thought I should express my remorse here lol.

Ahah. I can see that now. No doubt you are right about that. A GT not fast enough!? WTH does somebody want, a McLaren Senna? LAFerrari? Well, yes, naturally. But in the real world, the attainable world: what on earth compares to a Stinger for the money? If we're just talking fast and nothing more, okay. But why bloviate on the Stinger Forum? This is a high performing luxury GT, not a not rod.
