Drag/Acceleration Kia Stinger 1/4 Mile Times

Heres why I really like it. I ran 12.16 before cut outs. After cut outs I run 11.98, btw same stretch of road and very similar temp as I recall it was mid 20s. I now know for a fact those exhaust cutouts were worth .18 a significant bump. Takes all the guess work out. Next mod is injen intakes(love the red). My new base is 11.98. See where they take me. Without this info your 3 or 4 mods down the road trying to figure out what's working and what's not.

One could probably find a nice hill, hold the dragy down low in the car, and raise it higher throughout the run. Possibly turn a 1.5 slope into a <.99.
Interesting idea, but neither practical or effective.

One, driving with one hand flat out up to 120 MPH on an isolated road, while trying to gradually lift a plastic box from floor level to ceiling with the other hand, and also trying to hold a straight course while looking out for other possible traffic, is a very high risk endeavor.

Two, how high an elevation could you manage with one hand while driving with your other - two, maybe three feet? 3 feet elevation change over a quarter mile works out to a little over 2 tenths of one percent grade change.

I ran 12.5 was my best on map 2 , intakes , downpipes and muffler deletes ....now that time was at an actual track .... I know people with full boltons barely reaching the 11,s .....It seems like all I need to do is to get a draggy lol to get into the 11’s I don’t know why I’m spending money on performance mods , seems like that draggy is adding 100 hp easy lol
Wonder if the driver counts for anything? Wash

I sent you the log via email have a peek, Thanks!

Not bad for map2 v6 firmware. Just the AFR control alone of v7 would knock off some time. Update that sucker and next stop map5 w/ a can of octane booster?? ;)

Would love to see the log too. Can you post it up in the n54 forum?

Honestly, I havent set up for a few reasons.

1. not tuned yet
2. i dont want me to get comfortable using the dragy over a track when track times open up.
3. I have to many projects on my stinger im working on. Its going to be a big summer for a lot of us!
I agree 100% with point number 2.......Right on

If you don't have a private track to safely do 1/4 mile runs then of course dragy isn't an option. But if you do the only reason not to measure your own metrics is so that you won't be disappointment by your cars performance. :)

Great results, but not something I'd ever be able to use due to the noise - I'll see what I can kind of performance I can gain while keeping somewhat of an audible lid on it.

Glad it works well for you, though!
they open and close with a remote. When closed your car sounds the way it did before you put them in. Best of both

Yes, I realize they are a controllable bypass. However, I don't go to the track and there isn't any situation on the street where I would want to fully open up my exhaust - it's just too loud. As I said, if it works for you, great! - but it's not something that I would be able to make use of.

There are other power-making options that still keep the noise at a level I can live with, and let me make use of the extra power in all driving situations ...

I think the dragy slope, only 12 feet max over a quarter, could give you .02-.04 maybe. Dragy slope also varies by 30% to much more on the same road so realistically a big slope maybe 8 feet. Being able to run with no heat soak proabably worth .1 Priceless!

On the same exact spot I've seen .35% slope all the way 1.38% slope.

Draggy or not, the cutouts are working! Nice run.

Yeah dragy seems consistent at least so good for testing mods.
Exactly what I bought it for, and it has been very consistent - amazing technology for a minimal price. Managed to get some 1/4 mile baselines (without car modifications) during the warm fall weather, and more runs recently with the temperature hovering around 0C. Private roads of course ... :cautious:

Significant performance gains in cold, dense air, though I won't be joining the leaderboard anytime soon - not at this altitude in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. At least it's a dry cold ... :p
