@Never thought For sure, mechanical reliability, hands down: which the Stinger has: which is very gratifying in a first year model!

RENT FREEHuh? no joke, just stating facts. Russia used an internet disinformation campaign to help him get elected, those are facts based on the information gathered by every single one of our intelligence agencies, not some "conspiracy". I'm just using that instance as an example because it's probably the best one to show just how powerful disinformation on the internet is.
I've never once seen you express any positives toward the car. Every single time you post it's about how Kia cut corners, how bad a certain aspect of the car is, how some other car is better. If it looks like a troll and smells like a troll, it's probably a troll.
I would say one rock chip in 13k miles is pretty good even for perfect paint!Have been holding my breath since reading about all the paint issues....just got my first major chip this weekend....damn it man. With a 10/17 build date was hoping to get lucky.....have almost 13k thousand miles...so maybe I am.
I don’t have any chips, same build date. Had peeling paint under the headlight and the cracked tailgate near the license plate, oh and a failed LSD. Still love this car (no sarcasm)! Where is the chip?Have been holding my breath since reading about all the paint issues....just got my first major chip this weekend....damn it man. I would go back to the dealer and complain. If they give you problems, call the Stinger corporate line.Is this the same issue that everyone else is seeing? I wasn't aware of the paint issue until reading this thread, but I have these dots all over my car, I've only had it for a few days and it has only 190 miles on it. No chips yet, but lots of these spots that look like bad paint / bad clear coat.
That looks more like bad clear coat. The actual paint adherence issue takes a chip clear down to the primer coat or even the metal. Look back through the thread for plenty of examples. What is your build date? We want to know: Nov/17 and Dec/17 build dates contain the majority of paint failure cases. But of course, we have other cases long after those dates. Is this the same issue that everyone else is seeing? One note, PPF isn’t included by default. My GT2 AWD didn’t come with it. So demanding it may not work. Some dealers add it (then include as dealer installed options)... check your window sticker or look for a supplemental card like the one below. If this was your car, what would you demand from the dealer? I had another issue (see my "The dealer just called" thread in the dealer section of the forums), so I'm going there tomorrow anyway to talk about the paint and to presumably sign the forms that they forgot to have me sign when I bought the car a couple days ago.
My thoughts:
- Fix all paint and clearcoat to the high level that's expected of a brand new, premium car
- Apply PPF over every surface that is susceptible to road debris, with a highly qualified installer
I'm in an interesting situation, leverage-wise: due to their error, I apparently haven't signed everything needed to finalize the transaction and loan. I intend to get their written commitment to make everything right before signing. Depending which forms weren't signed due to their error, I could possibly back out of the transaction and give the car back, but other than the paint, I love the car, it's an amazing machine.
No idea. I suspect the first time someone really polishes the car (RO) it would be removed. Probably a cheap version of ceramic coating.Does that "super polysteel" polymer protection actually do much to protect the paint? Some sort of additional warranty on the paint wouldn't be a bad idea.
