What do you guys this of this size fors a square 19 set up or is 235/40-19 better?

That is the info I have been trying too get eyeing 245/40-19 front 275/35-19 rear. Stock wheels.

245/40r19 should work fine, it’s going to stretch some on the rear...it’s a wider rim.

I dont think a 245 40r-19 all around is a good idea at all...the car comes stock with a staggered setup because that was what it was engineered to use.

If you want to go wider I would aim to bring both the front and rear up the same percentage of width as possible while maintaining the closest circumference to stock.

Id have to run the sizes through a tire calculator but that setup sounds better than a squared setup.

I’m thinking of putting them on aftermarket wheels 19x8.5.

I don’t want a staggered setup.

My car cane with square 225/45-18”

Just want a little wider than the 18s for summer.

These 19” rims are 1/2” wider, hence the 246 idea.

Even with the factory staggered setup the wheels / tires are the same rolling diameter. As long as you keep all four wheels / tires the same rolling diameter, it doesn't matter if they're staggered or not. I'm running 225/45/18's all around for winter on my RWD and it's perfectly fine.

Please add your location to your profile.

Every manufacturer has supported rim width information available for their tires. For example, the 255/35 Pilot 4S on the back of the Stinger will work on an 8.5-10" rim.

Oh i realise that, Im running a 225 45r 18 square setup on 18x8 wheels for winter too. I was thinking he was planning those tire sizes for the stock rims which wouldnt work.

I see the 245s have a slightly larger rolling diameter than the 225/40-19 stock fronts. I presume the Speedo will be off a little but the wheels won’t rub. Maybe I’ll do 235/40-19s.

I live in the northeast so I prefer a little thicker sidewall for the crappy roads.

235/40 square is what almost everyone runs with square set-ups.

You can go with that size, just know your speedometer will be slightly off and the ride height will be a little higher, about 1/2”. Should make bumps more comfortable as well as the ride, plus more tires available in that size. I’m thinking if you went 9” wide it might be better. I was thinking of doing that myself and then install lowering springs. Haven’t done anything though.

I would definitely add springs.
