A Model S quarter mile ET is impressive, but the trap speed is another story. Anyone would be crazy to race a Tesla from a standstill, but pull up to one at 70 mph on the interstate and you will likely beat them to 100+. AMHIK... Also, I'm not this crazy, but a Tesla tops out at 140-150, Stinger goes higher. My posting was really to support the impressive power , torque and speed of Electric , we should ALL be aware that ALL Teslas will stomp a GT
look at post 1
The way I read it, seems they used the RWD. Cause they say 'The only other qualifier that I think is left out in Top Gear’s video is whether or not the Stinger they tested was equipped with the optional all-wheel drive. 'look at post 1
I don’t know about you guys but my RWD launches pretty damn quick and hooks up. Tesla didn’t get huge launch either , more like just pulling away steadily. The way I read it, seems they used the RWD. GT vs Tesla Model S , should be no surprise !!Just makes me hope even more that one day Kia will release an all electric Stinger GT. Would love to upgrade to that.
GT vs Tesla Model S , should be no surprise !!

"Upgrade" only applies if you are talking raw acceleration: not top end and certainly not utility as a gran turismo. "Oo, look at me; I'm 'touring' in 200 to 300 mile rabbit hops per day". Or, "I can get 500 to 600 miles on a single charge (if I go 24 mph)."
The vast majority of Americans aren’t going on 600 mile trips to Monaco in their Gran Turismo . They also own 2 cars typically. Electrics like Tesla are perfect second car for sure but perfectly capable of longer trips. Can say in 13000 miles on my Stinger longest trip has been about 100 miles. Hate to admit it but long trips I prefer the dodge SUV with Euro designed suspension and big V8 it cruises at fast speeds effortlessly. And if your a Californian there are Tesla super chargers all over and Tesla ranges are over 300 miles then with 30 min charge get 80% charge while you have lunch or take a break from hours behind the wheel. No waiting overnight as you indicate. So grand touring here in a Tesla is easy.GT vs Tesla Model S , should be no surprise !!

Might have been closer if the GT was AWD. Those are the ones we usually see beating things like 450+HP Mustangs.
Yeah, I have read that, but in the video against the Mustang, they make a point of saying one of the reason the Stinger GT beat it was because of how quickly it got off the line in AWD (that and how quickly the torque was available). Technology and wizardry and cheating (talking about AWD)is what was mentioned if I remember correctly. In stock form RWD Stingers are faster than AWD.
Cars I cross shopped to my StingerShould we start comparing the GT's to pretty much everything now? Next up...GT's vs GT-R?
