Howdy, Stinger Hive!
@iclicku came up with a great idea for fellow Stinger owners (heck, even Stinger enthusiasts in the know!) to acknowledge each other on the road. Nothing elaborate, just a 2-blink signal from the hazards :)

It doesn't draw a lot of attention, isn't aggressive or perceived in automotive subcultures as confrontational (in certain parts of the U.S. you run the risk of being shot for flashing your high beams at night to notify oncoming vehicles their headlamps aren't on).

He and another board member were discussing how motorcyclists have their wave, Subie owners have their thing, so why not 2 hazards for the Stinger owners? I'm game, and curious if anyone else would be up for giving it a try the next time you see a fellow Stinger in the wild? :)

If I ever see a darn Stinger, I'll definitely try it out@

I do something else. I brake hard to a crawl, then I open the sunroof and stand on my seats to be partially outside the car. I take of my tshirt to present my KIA body paint, put on my wig made KIA emblems and bring up the dead snake I carry with me for such occasions, which I will then proceed to swing around over my head exactly 3.5 times. A precise set of grimasses goes along with this while my modified horn is playing La Cucaracha in a minor key. Then I throw around cat litter crystals.

Nothing less will do.

I think just a couple flashes of the brights would work. At night, you probably wouldn't even realize it's another Stinger until it's too late. Just my .02 worth

Love this idea and I used to do the same in my Subaru’s! Flashing hazards, or headlights a few times usually was enough to get a similar response or a thumbs up.

I will start doing this and keep giving a thumbs up through my moonroof when I see more. Hope other “HIVERS” will catch on too.:D

Should be easy to spot @voon on the road.

In Maine , they lift one finger off the steering wheel......not THAT finger!!!,jeeeeesh.

They've been so rare here in Miami that i can't help it but to blow the horn a few times. NO shame either.

I remember talking about driving with My Uncle Smokey...(he didn't smoke,lol)....about 30 some odd years ago.....he mentioned thats what they did....but if ya wanted a finger wave, you had to wave first.......with the finger...

Jeeps used to have the true wave...dunno if it's still alive.

I still do everything...horn, blinkers, highlights and a wave if I can get the window down in time!:D

As a former motorcyclist and a former Corvette and Porsche owner, I was accustomed to waving at other bikers, Vettes, and Porsches. I would do the same for other Stingers, but none other in my area yet. In my mind, waves are more personal that flashing lights.

Agreed. I wave to everyone on my motorcycle and think that flashing lights is a dick move in any situation.

I have not seen another in my city but would love to and will definitely acknowledge them somehow!
