Just found this at a car wash in AZ. @MerlintheMad we need to get the car washes to carry these in Utah. Compressed air nozzle with a trigger switch and it was free to use. So great for blowing out the water from small spaces.

Time saver too, I reckon. Because when you've toweled everything, you have to go back over the whole car to catch the drops of water that have emerged from all those "small spaces", e.g. the base of the side mirrors, and from under the doors. The hatch is the greatest offender. Being able to blow it out all around the edges would make thorough drying off much easier and quicker.

Same thing as washing one without. The film is actually more durable than the paint it protects.

if I'm showing the car, sure....but she gets washed then waxed......I'll get the drippy little batages

Well dadgum this clear bra stuff is the nutz..... all I did was hit it with some spray detail....geeez this clear wrap is a good investment im thinkin? Since the company was only 5 mins from the house I could go over there and watch it bring applied....wow labor intensive! The car has to be clayed and prepped to the max even before the wrap is applied...it was a three day deal on mine....BTW if you are trying to pick out a pro from a wannabe installer....go to their place and look around for this giant plotter table with a puter hooked up.....that tells you that this person is a pro....cause he has software that is very costly for each car he does.....he inputs what he wants to cover, the software spits out the dimensions to the plotter and it starts cutting off a giant roll of clear with enough overage so he can wrap around all edges.....the wannabe buys a pre cut decal sheet for the car that mostly will not let them wrap all the way over the edges........ did I tell yall that this stuff is shiny?....lol ...Wash

Just used Chemical Guy’s Citrus Wash. No wax until the paint cures.

There is another kind of clear bra installer that does custom installation instead of using pre-cut kits. My installer cuts the pieces on the car (without cutting into the paint) and then wrap/fold over the edges whenever possible. If a full hood coverage was ordered, there would be near-zero visible seam. I can also specify the shape of the seam on the fenders (partial coverage) and I have earned the name "Tom's Cut". Less visible seam could be achieved by removing lights, grills, and other trim pieces.

Additional pieces would be areas where the paint is touched often by hand/finger. Areas like exterior door handle pockets (to resist fingernail scratches), fuel filler door, rocker panels (including areas under the mud guards), top-center portion of rear bumper, lowest edge of hatch door, leading areas of rear wheel-well openings, A pillars, leading edge of roof, door jambs, etc. The hard parts are the black-copperish-chrome areas on the front bumper and the outside mirror housings. I'm going to see how a small area looks like.

The installer also happens to be an excellent paint correction specialist. It will be in the late spring to have paint correction done. I'm planning to remove emblems so the glass coating can be applied more easily. The emblem on the front bumper will also be removed before the clear bra to avoid another seam as a result of a cut out.
