just went to kia . They are going to repaint roof and hatch paint is coming off rear hatch at roof line. Also all doors along water channel paint is bubbling up with water behind it. They will have to repaint all the doors to.i love the car but just turn year old and already big paint problems. Thought this was only on the yellow paint.guess what I would check car front to back know matter what color you bought. Just a heads up people.

My panthera metal has paint issues at the hatch and roofline also. I'll have to check those channels too. They've already approved a repaint of the hatch but it might lead to a roof paint job too. Guaranteed it won't look right. This color is ridiculously deep .

Ya all my doors have paint bubbles along all the seems. Ya I’ve seen the paint coming off of almost every color at the peek of hatch where it meets the main roof. It’s a clear coat problem not paint . So I would check car everywhere no matter what color it is.

And it can takes months to show itself. Mine got real bad after I washed car one day. Just started getting wet bubbles in paint.if not fixed right nothing but rust probs in future.

Thanks. I wash mine regularly by hand and am on constant watch for any first indicators of paint issues. Silky Silver seems almost entirely spared. You voted in the Stinger Paint Quality poll, I presume?

Like I said the paint guys are telling me it’s not a paint problem. It is a clear coat problem. The yellow car problem was not enough clear and bad mix of clear coat. My bubbles are a clear coat problem. Hopefully it was just on the first few months of production. Mine was built in oct of 17. And all the sudden paint issues 12 months later. That’s is bad for a factory paint job. I would expect this maybe 5 10 years down road. Com on man!

I don't have anything to add. My involvement on the Paint Issues thread dominates my participation on this forum, and I don't even have paint issues. Why? Because I also feel like saying to Kia, "Come on man!" I do think they're manning up. And resolutions are being pursued case by case. The poor dealerships and even more poor body shops that Kia's foul ups are being run through to fix them, are a big hitch in Kia's gitalong. Will it work out in the end?

Ya I hope it works out my dealership is really a great bunch of people. They are fixing everything with know problem. They have been going over and above with there service. I hear some aren’t so lucky out there. Hopefully they come through for every problem.like I said car is still awesome.

Same boat here with the dealer... They've been great so far pertaining to the paint issue... Even allowed me to choose my own shop instead of their choice because of bad work recently.

I'm only waiting to get it done because I am working on a trade to a gt2 awd 2018 model from the same dealer .I'd rather do that than deal with repainting even a few panels.

In my experience a partial paint job is 100% detectable to a trained eye.

I was at dealer yesterday looked at 10 new stingers 5 had paint already coming off on the hatch where medal is rolled on edges where roof meets hatch salesman was blown away we fund same issue.kia must be getting a bad supply of products or not being mixed properly. Something is not right hope they find it and get fixed. This car is a big deal for them.

This is insane...

That spot has a unique roll to the metal... it is pretty sharp. I wonder if that is the reason paint isn't staying adhered to it. I've noticed it getting worse each time I wash the car too.

Are you guys able to share photos?

I try today. You will know if you have looks like paint bubbles or blisters.
