Interesting Discoveries Thread (Good or Bad)

Hood/bonnet is metal (at least in AUS)

I was under the impression it was all high strength steel? Maybe the hatch is aluminum to save weight for the struts to lift?

dunno...tried to stick a magnet dog paw sign ''back off, I'm not in heat'' the sign slid right off......

And it stuck to the fender? Maybe just leave it on the fender?

no one tailgates a fender......

Correct the back end (where emblems are located) is plastic as well as the top part (where it meets the bottom of the rear glass) The rest is metal.
Hood/Bonnet is metal as well

You and me, bub: I didn't find out till last night that the USB, charger "pit" (center console) has a cover: I thought that lid was just a handy spot for a wallet. :D I did know about the rear climate control though.

Well, then, don't put chocolate in there.
haha i knew that but not the other lol

When the car is on, the push button on the handle is disabled. Use the buttons on the remote.

No one that tailgates pulls back because of an amusing magnet....imho. Install a rear facing machine gun.

I'm still looking for the feature that raises the passenger seat and then ejects the unwanted "guest'"through the moonroof.

ahhhhh ''goldfinger''

I should really crack open the owners manual someday. I found out yesterday that if you're in Sport mode, the transmission will indeed shift to 8th, if you just set cruise control. All this time I thought you had to force it up to 8th by manually shifting it.

I read it and missed or forgot that. I thought no 8th in Sport at all. Whew.

car hasn't seen 8th gear in weeks.....

Here's an annoying one. Yesterday I didn't close the door all the way and didn't notice. When I started the car, the display nagged at me that the car was on and to shift into park, but it didn't bother to tell me that I didn't close the door all the way. Took me a minute to figure out what it was complaining about.

Has anyone figured out how to replace the wipers and keep the oem ''look''?! Seems a waste to trash the design of the wiper housing to the what would be a simple ''refill'' Haven't done that since the 70's!! I was just gonna pop 'em off and keep them before they get trashed and replace with rain-x oor some other pricey wiper.........btw......the oem wipers are useless in winter..
