Hi Folks,

I am in the process of purchasing a 2018 Stinger GT2 (AWD). The color is a blue color (though my favorite is the ceramic silver). The Out-The-Door price from one of the dealers I've dealt with is $46,800. Is this a good price, or can I negotiate down more?

I'm just hesitant seeing the new year coming out, what would I be missing? I think the best addition in the newer models is the heated rear seats. I can live without the surround camera or Wireless charging.

Are you sure about not wanting the surround camera? I would have been willing to pay a lot for that feature, had it been available on the 2018's.

anything above 40k out of the door for 2018 at this point is a robbery.

Just a couple days ago I got my 2018 GT2 AWD for just above $40k, and I've seen others post similar findings as well.

Almost $47k seems a bit high - does that include a ton of tax and extra add-ons that you wanted?

I agree that the price seems high from what people have said lately.
If it matters to you the 2018 GT2 with ivory interior appears like it is one of the unicorns. Not offered in 2019.

That color combo is really what pushed me from the GT1 to the GT2. I love it.

Ditto! I had heavily considered just waiting to get a 2019 GT1, but when I saw that the micro blue would only be available with the black interior, that really decided it for me, to get the 2018 before the black/gray interior went out. Absolutely love it. :)

Be careful with dark jeans. I’ve had to clean my seats a few times.

Don't know your situation and what finance numbers you are getting but as stated, that seems too high for a 2018 Stinger GT2.

is that out the door or pretax/fees? What discount did the dealership give you off the MSRP?

That was before taxes (I live in another state - the state where I purchased has no sales-tax), and the other fees I had were title/registration/license fees of $377. The dealer discount was a little more than $6k below MSRP before incentives, and was the best discount I could find in the region for the specific car/color I wanted.

nice, I think the most important thing people need to compare is the dealer discount percentage, rebates and tax is going to be region specific. 10-12% seems to be the going rate on the dealer discount.

Indeed sir, that rate seems fairly consistent from what I found for mid October for my region, and I wouldn't be surprised if they continue to grow. But then you risk not being able to find the color/trim you want, etc, as they sell off one by one.

I saw 2 red GT2s that were discounted ~17% off the top - but they were demonstrators/loaners/staff drivers. One had 4k miles, the other had a hair over 3k miles. I wanted something with near-0 miles on it if I could find it. Nitpicky maybe, but I was fine with missing out on a better price because of it. :)

yeah, it seems the GT2s are the best deal right now. The most I could get anyone to discount a GT1 3 weeks ago was 10%.

Dave Miller, the Kia salesman from the Kia dealer in Salem, OR, who frequents this forum said he has a pair of GT2s for $38-$39k, one AWD and one RWD (I think they are both red). I actually chatted with him in email before I purchased, but he didn't have blue or ceramic silver, otherwise I would have drove the 110 mile roundtrip to deal with him. But he -did- have a blue one a week or two earlier - but it sold.

That's the gamble - wait for a cheaper price, but risk losing out if someone else grabs it. And if you're flexible on color/trim, you should have a lot more choices. :)

Sorry for the late reply (no notifications), I was able to get $45.5k OTD. Yes, it included Illinois and Chicago taxes which are horrid. Most dealerships here were marking the price low but pulled out the bag of tricks when visiting them. IE, the price listed is with leasing or 2.9% interest. Reading the forums now, I am regretting not researching enough and driving over to Indiana to purchase the vehicle! :(

As for the add-ons, it comes with the remote start and puddle lights.
