Drag/Acceleration Kia Stinger 1/4 Mile Times

There's someone else claiming 11.5 1/4 mile times on the n54tech forums. Maybe we just have some slow Stingers :).

I'm probably heading to the track again this weekend, I have the SSR DPs in. I'm honestly not optimistic I'll beat my last slip but we'll see.

Can anyone chime in on the rumored transmission flash? I've read it's distinct from the static shift update (which didn't apply to GT2s).

I had the flash done and the transmission shifts way better. It had also removed a lot of the launch hesitation my car had prior. I did a logged 0-60 before and after using the jb4, map 6, same adjustments, k&n filters, within a 2 degree iat, and same road. I went from a 4.7 to a 4.3. The car still has some hesitation but no where near what it had.

4.7 seems really slow. I tested mine with dragy faster than that without even launching.
 
I get around 4.5s normally RWD on launch mode, 17psi but reducing boost 6psi in 1st and 2psi in 2nd.

Is this trans update for every model? I have a gt limited it’s the same as a fully loaded awd gt2. I called my dealer and they said there was no update for my vin number.

I crept on @Allmanb 's profile, it looks like he has a GT not a GT2. The GT2 has shift-by-wire, which, to my knowledge, hasn't received a transmission update like other 3.3 models.

Mine was doing a 5.1-5.2 stock. The hesitation in the launch was crazy. It would roll, stop, then slowly take off. After the update it does a lot better but still has some hesitation. My car is also AWD.

Correct. Mine is a GT with the cable shifter not the shift by wire.

These were done same iat, same boost pressure, and same road. Before and after transmission update. Logs show 15psi 1st, 16-17psi 2nd, and 18psi 3rd. No boost by gear set. My ecu command rarely goes above 10psi.

That makes sense. I think Car and Driver tested the Stinger RWD at 4.4 seconds 0-60, AWD at 4.6 seconds 0-60. Of course this is in ideal conditions and probably the best run out of 20. I can tell you there is zero hesitation with my RWD from a stop; I've also never tried launch control.

If you are talking about the half second full power cut right after launch control, that is due to your transmission being cooler than 200 ish degrees. Did the update fix this? Or are you talking about just a sluggish launch?
The hottest I've hit the launch cut is 200 and coolest launch hard 205. So the line is somewhere between 200-205.

Leave the first 5 lines as an intro on the stock times and delete the rest.

I was pushed from the list. Damn. I wonder if an additional 2k+ in mods is worth the .02 seconds. Now that it’s cooler out, I hope to do another run. 80% and humid wasn’t ideal. Good luck to all those on the list and to our future racers.

you should do a lot better than .02 if it's a lot cooler and less humid.

These pulls were done after an hour drive at 75mph on the interstate getting home from work. I don't have a way to see transmission temp

You can always push a little more boost or push AFR a little leaner to make up the .02s if needed. ;)
