Having second thoughts about getting one

Booked one yesterday, arriving on Monday or Tuesday. Went with 2019 GT2 AWD white with red interior and with standard 19 inch wheels (no all season package). Got 2000 off MSRP and 500 extra on trade in with 6100 lease rebate. Need to get eibach sway bars now.

Congratulations on your new purchase, nice colour scheme you ordered there, a few sleepless nights now....lol.
Yes, the Eibach sway bars make difference, so good choice although I’m biased.

Congratulations on the car - nice vehicle, nice color options (also biased) ... :)

I'd suggest driving the car for a while to get a feel for it, before you start purchasing suspension components. Everybody has a different opinion on what makes up the perfect suspension - some are happiest with the factory setup. Either way, enjoy the new ride!

For any others worried about purchasing a Stinger....
Well as most on the forum know, I had bowel cancer and have recovered. One thing I have learnt from it is that you only live once. Stop using your head and buy it, enjoy it, seize the day I say! If it makes you smile it’s doing the job life intended.:)

I'm approaching 50, if I could go back in time and talk to my 29yr old self (which I was in the same financial situation as you), I would tell me to set practical aside for later and go for the fun stuff now!

Typically, nostalgic memories are the fun times you had and things you did (regardless of the consequences). Whereas regrets are the "safe bets" and practicalities that kept you from doing the more enjoyable things.

Do the fun thing now, when the family situation comes around...Well hell, the Stinger is still a 4-door hatchback man! And if you opt for the AWD, it'll be great for bad weather too! It's win-win here. :)
Why do I think of frank sinatra when I read this?
Regrets, I’ve had few.......but did it my way!:)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
@AV8R Great sentiments to greet the eyes on a Sunday morning. True words, sir!

Congrats! Once you start driving it, you’ll understand why we love it dispite some of the niggles.

Thanks.

Really wanted non black interior and for exterior chroma blue at first then white then silky silver. Went back to white with red.

I would try factory for few months then put sways and then decide which one I liked better.

Hope so. I always loved taking corners fast and the acceleration, now I will b e getting load of it.

Thanks.

Good color choice! Dare I say... the best color combination? lol

Both my ex wife and I had "sporty" cars when we met in the mid 90's. After >15yrs marriage, a minivan, and two Durangos, when my 2011 Sorento was totaled by a DUI, I decided I wanted something "sporty" again, but was told we needed a roomy SUV for the travel we were doing to support my daughters horse showing career.

Divorced >2yrs now, I was ready to buy either an M- or AMG- car in the spring of 2017. Heard about the Stinger and decided to wait.

Now it's about me, and my time is near.. :D

Best line I ever used , when my ex wifes mother tried to tell me to pick up some clothes....I turned and told her in no uncertain terms, ''your days of telling me what to do are over!''

Me to ,divorced 14 years now, worst/best days of my life...weird how it feels that way.

I am going to start using emotion to determine my financial choices and go buy a Ferrari and a boat. Thanks guys!

I do understand and appreciate your response.

I evaluated my emotions financially
1. how much I can afford to spend (10% of my income per month)
2. how much fun/enjoyment I would get and how much would I like to spend to get it otherwise (still figuring it out but I would have spend 200-400 per month on car either way)
3. how much I would spend getting this car (around $800)).

I think I am being financially responsible. I am maxing out 401K with my employer matching 50%, I am putting post tax 15% in company stock (which I get at 10% discount). When I get married most probably I would have dual income. I do not plan to buy a house yet (being on work visa, I need to think more about getting one).

PS: I do not look at car payments when evaluating my affordability, I ma just putting those numbers to explain. Financially, I am planning to pay off car in 48 months, I negotiated price by looking at MSRP and my predicted invoice price.

You dont have to justify the purchase to me, I was merely being sarcastic. Do whats best for you which sounds like you are.

I thought it was important to add why and how I made a decision as I would not want anyone who goes through this thread in future to misunderstand. I think your comments was pretty spot that's why added a clarification.

PS: I have seen my friends spends more than pre-tax annual income income on cars.
