Drivers seat - side scuffing badly

I was told by the dealer its a one time fix.

Meaning a one time replacement? If that's the case, you might as well have it replaced close to the end of your warranty period. I can only imagine the replacement seat would have the same problem. One has to alter the way they get in and out to avoid these scuffs.

And another one, skip to 1:37. Wonder what can be done to prevent this. Any chance the warranty would cover it?

Build date is September '17. That car is likely a "beater", so this proves nothing about any assertions that this bolster scuffing is at all a commonplace problem

Intresting video, tell the guy its a performance brand.

I think he's making the point that NOW Kia has entered the "performance brand" market with this car. Am I right?

youre giving him WAAAAYYYYY too much credit

Is the consensus that the non Napa leather found on the GT1 and below doesn’t have this problem? With the 2019 looking like the GT1 will have ventilated seats it might be a reason to not go to GT2 for me personally, to still have ventilated seats but avoid the bolster issue.

I don't know about "consensus". But I haven't read anything to refute the assertion that a nappa only issue exists. Earlier I hypothesized that the nappa is matched to a softer synthetic. The hardier normal leather trim is likewise matched to a hardier synthetic. So it would make sense that the softer synthetic has issues with some drivers the way they enter/exit the car. However, the same drivers will wear through the supposedly hardier synthetic also: it will just take longer for the damage to show.

My drivers side seat bolster is being replaced by Kia Canada , back ordered 6-8 weeks though !!

How did yours look?
see post 139 , not as bad as that and only on the edge about 1 inch long ..............they didnt quible about it !!

I’ve been really carful so far but I only have 1700km on mine. What kind of km did yours have? I wonder if they will change up the type of leather they use.

You need to get into the car in the demonstrated way. Knees together facing out gently lower your backside onto the seat then swing your
legs around and in. Your yoga classes should have taught you that Lol

Not a scratch on mine all good at the moment.
its the Spandex yoga pants you wear all the time , they're so smooth .......................bawaaaaaaaa:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::laugh:

No the throw offs you gave me are too big so i wear other suitable attire. Lol
