Very clear instructions, excellent work VelossaTech :thumbup:

What chances would there be of water going in and thru to the airbox and air filter? From the side pic, looks like the snorkel is the same height/level as the airbox inlet.

If you’re fording a river then it will get in to the air box at the same height as stock.

In a heavy rain I could see getting some water into the box but not enough to cause an issue.

Your only hydro locking an engine when significant amounts of water make it to the cylinders.

Very unlikely, unless you are driving WOT in dense rain for a long period etc. I would be more worried with water accumulating at the bottom of the intake box, I am thinking of drilling a whole at the lowest point of the air box so that all the water just drains out cause I take my car to the carwash a lot and they do spray high pressure water towards the grill etc.

Tropical rain is common here along the equator, doubt you even need to be a WOT for rain water to get pushed in with ram air. And if you do get water pooling at the bottom of the airbox, I reckon you would have issues with hydro lock already by then.

Was told by a friend that there is a small inlet with a magnetic valve at the bottom of the airbox, and thinks it’s to allow more air in from outside the airbox when the charge air pressure gets too low.

I take it that the shroud is not re-installed?

I'll be putting on my "mcdonalds" colored duct tomorrow, or at least thinking about it. With the new wiring harness recall on Stingers... should I hold off? I looks like the wiring harness is part of the shroud, or I am wrong? If it is, what do you do with it?

The part of the harness for the recall is near/under the fender not the shroud portion during the install

Right on. Zip ties for the harness?

@NICK_KHAR
I did install these a while back but now that snow is happening and I do take 5 hr trips in snowstorms to go ride, I want to buy a prefilter to put over the velossa tech opening. I would just zip tie it out of an abundance of caution to reduce snow from ducking into my engine bay.
Can you please lmk the size of opening of the velossa tech inlet? Not sure if it is square or rectangle .. but hoping to not pull my bumper in freezing weather if you know that info. Thank you
