The Chevy SS used the LS3 all years in America. The LS3 is not direct injected. The new GM LT1 is direct injected.I was under the impression that our US model SS used the LS2, pre-GDI. Was I mistaken, or did you get the LS3 in Australia?

True and wonder if the 5k rpm start hurt his chances.Again, higher mph roll unfavorable for us; but still nice outcome.
Series 2 VF SS Commodore (MY16 onwards) had LS3, US version was released about 2014 (series1)and also had LS3. The series 1 in Australia (2013-2015) had a 6.0L V8 before upgrading to the 6.2L LS3I was under the impression that our US model SS used the LS2, pre-GDI. You're probably thinking about the GTO. Used LS1 in 2004 and LS2 in 2005 and 2006.
