We all seen the bottom of a car and the oil filter, So I won't bore you with that. Mileage is 5500, So out with the old and in with the new. with pix of course.
This is what I installed hp -1004, pretty common filter.

it took just over 6 quarts, hasn't been touched since it left the factory, I'm sure of this. I'm happy to report that the 2.0 base is an easy oil change. I had both the under side plastics removed because of dirt. But you only need to take off the rear one ,under the motor. One bolt in the forward center position shares in fastening both plastics that one needs to come out. All the bolts holding the under side plastic were way over torqued imo, so was the stock oil filter , I reinstalled with 8 ft lbs for the bolts. The oil filter was installed by hand, as tight as I could, BY HAND ! Thats the important thing here, even the drain plug was snugged up. then a a quarter turn....thats all that is needed imo..

Thanks very much for posting and taking all these pictures. Very helpful.

The picture that shows what the bolt screws into is clean, telling me the rust from the bolts came from winter road treatment and not flood damage......thank you Jesus!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
yes the v-6 uses a cartridge set up, the 2.0 uses a common closed filter with a overflow bypass built in.

I have plenty of the regular oil oil filter from my hyundai sonata I no longer own. I assume they are interchageable with the kia one if the part number cross referenced.

The filter I'm using was earmarked for a 2014 sorento or a 2017 forte.......off the top of my head, yeah.
