No one knows because no one has broken one from too much power. Go look in the Tuning threads for what cars are making now, it’s above that.
I'm more than sure someone has, we just don't know about it, lol... This car's a veritable gold mine of modding excitement: having an actually fast Kia is worth the smiles and damaged egos![]()
So if no one knows about it, how do you expect this thread to go?![]()
You may want to modify your question a bit. Transmission ratings/limits are in torque. You can have a 600whp car with 500 ft lb torque or 800 ft lb torque.
This was already discussed multiple times but cant remember the names of the other threads. However, I feel like the consensus was that the engine & transmission limits were around 800HP/TQ!
I know there are tuners in S.Korea that added bigger turbos and are already pushing 500-600WHP. I havent read about any issues or failures yet so we probably have a little more to go before hitting transmission limits.
However, if I had to guess which part of our Stingers is the weakest link I would think its the LSD (Limited Slip Differential). Unfortunately there are dozens of cases of differentials failing and I happened to be one of them. I'm hoping it was just a defective part, but that and the plugs/coils seem to be the weakest links so far...
