Front license plate and brackets

Just to mention: I adhered my front plate with industrial strength velcro when I bought the car (in March) and been through 100 car washes, and adheres to problem at all. total cost: about $5.00.

Thanks does it stick out a lot? Do you have pictures from the top? Don’t want it to stick out more then a inch.

If my front plate was drilled in by the dealer, what would be involved if I wanted to remove the front plate all-together? Would a body shop have to get involved to fill holes and repaint?

Yes – I’m in a similar situation…I believe in order to do it right, you’d have to have a body shop fix the holes and re-spray the bumper. Since the holes from the emblem are also on the bumper, I would have those filled as well – I think that would make for a super clean looking front end…no license plate holder, no emblem…just the beautiful Stinger lines :D

The 2 quotes I got were $513 and $917…I haven’t bother to get any more yet as I’m still trying to decide if I want to spend that kind of money yet. I’ve seen some pics and love the look, but it is also a lot to spend to fill a few holes :)

Just ordered this off Amazon. Fits great and supports the entire license plate. Ive had trouble in the past with plate frames that do not extend all the way to the sides of the plate. The plate will get bent over time (or very quickly in a car wash).

Installed and is not in the way of the parking sensors. No issues so far.View attachment 6910
I understand we dont want to drill holes into our baby but the pictures of the placement of the plates look awful. I prefer to put it where its supposed to be, center. Just buy a really nice plate cover or have it painted to match the tiger nose chrome. Its my opinion.

Why dont you just drill holes? Dress up your plate cover or have it painted to match the tiger nose chrome.

That's exactly why I went with the mounting method I used - no drilling, centered, and didn't block the intercooler. When I moved to a state with no front plates, I just removed the whole thing and there's no ugly holes in the bumper.

The Amazon link no longer works. Is this the one you purchased --> https://www.amazon.com/iJDMTOY-Tow-...=8-3&keywords=kia+stinger+front+license+plate

I see this subject has the attention of many. My state requires a front plate (so they can catch us on the cameras). After receiving enough fix it tickets for NO displayed front plate (different vehicles), I decided to take a new approach this time. My profile pics show I have a full sized mounted readable license plate with; no airflow interference - no drilled holes in my bumper - no camera operation interference. As much as I wanted to mount a motorcycle plate up front (which would fit in the small space on the bumper), California had no way of getting both sizes. Thus far - no issues and no ticket. That's not to say it won't happen.. My ONLY drawback thus far is a large dip poses potential for a scrape on the plate. I'll post more detailed pics once I take them. db
Wow, California had no issue with bending the plate like that?

None thus far. I’ve been around lots of CHP and Sheriff’s... and have even done 2 trips to Arizona. The plate is full size and completely legible, so that’s in my favor. I do believe it IS mounted too low by the law as there is a minimum and maximum height. Truthfully, if pulled over, it’ll be tacked on to my speeding ticket, or maybe “in lieu of”. My only drawback thus far is the car cover wasn’t designed for a plate in this spot, so I have to be conscientious of that. db

Can I see a picture of the velcro and a link to what you ordered?

Decided to buy a foot of heavy duty (10 lbs test) Velcro at a craft store. I put a 10" x 2" strip on the back of the plate about 3/4" from the top of the plate and a 2" x 2" piece below, centered. This baby is going nowhere; no penetration of the bumper; and cost about $4.00.

Can you send a picture?
