Hi everyone
Just traded my 2011 Corvette GrandSport 6MT (couldn't justify a second car anymore) for a 2018 Premium (silver) with 2,200 miles on the clock.

Will be looking to do a badge kit as a starter with script in place of the rear badge... deciding on chrome or the black I have seen online ... who has put black script on rear of a silver Stinger? Does it work well?

Maybe if I can find a set of 19" GT rims at a reasonable price I may do that. Or just wait until my situation improves and can get a GT1 :)

Without delving into the site yet presumably there has been a discussion on fuel octane?

Welcome and congrats on the purchase!

Lots of discussion on gas/octane. I think rims are problematic, but that's just me. Silver: Silky or Ceramic? Welcome.

G’day, welcome to the forum & the Stinger Owners Fraternity, enjoy your new ride...

Silky...
And why problematic on the rims?
Thanks!
I'm a manual guy. The manual recommends sticking with the tire/wheel size that comes from the factory. There are a lot of shared ideas here on swapping rims. Lots of questions about "will they clear the rotors?", etc. And the speedo discrepancies. And the larger tires having potential clearance problems. Going smaller isn't a problem since the GTs come with 18s too. But bigger on a trim that doesn't come that way seems like asking for trouble. See my sig: "no mods"; that pretty much says it all about my attitude toward my car. I love it just the way it is. Even after six months. :D I don't want to even have to change my tires for winter. :P

Welcome and congrats. I used to have a couple of vettes. Older ones from the 70's.
I've seen the black script on the silver and it looks great.
When re-badging just be sure to take your time and don't use any heat more than a hair dryer.
I used a special adhesive remover meant for vinyl graphics and it worked great to get the sticky residue off.

As far as octane levels. Best to use 91 or greater from what I have read.

Appreciate your reply and good advice. Ordered some replacement badges and black script from Sal so look forward to the install. Will GooGone work just as well as the adhesive remover?
I've now read most of the threads regarding octane ... I'm in Florida so a great price difference between 87 and 93 ...

Thanks for the rims input ... I assumed that all models were the same in that regard so interchangeability wouldn't be a problem but that's why this forum works as well as it obviously does.

I didn't use goo gone so I can't attest to it's ability. But I've used it before on other project and always ended up using something else.
The rapid remover is great! It turns that adhesive into a crumbly gel in about 2 minutes and it's paint safe.
It's what's used in the vinyl wrap industry for removing the adhesive left behind by the vinyl.
