I had the Hakkapellittas R2’s on my STi and I agree that they are some of the best snow tires. One shortcoming with those tires is that the sidewalls do not have the rim protection leaving the rims exposed. To the point I scratched a rim just sliding it 6 to 12 inches on the driveway when I was cleaning them last spring (at tire changeover).I’ve ran Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3s for 3 winters so far. I’m probably biased but I think they’re the best winter tires on the market. Generally available through Kal Tire.
