Does anyone know if it is possible to mount 16 inch rims over the brakes on the Stinger?

I only ask because I have 16x6.5 inch rims in my garage that had been sitting there forever.

The rubbers on them now are old as hell, and not the right size in any case. Using online calculators, I can mount 225/60r16 winter tires and be only 0.5" taller than stock.

Any thoughts? I mean, other than how horrible-looking showing so much rubber would be lol

I know, not the season. But I just noticed I had them, so I thought I'd ask

"So much rubber." Not from the front or rear with 6.5" of width. You'd be looking like an old Aurora HO car. Skinny! And you would also be looking like one of those Mexican boats with minimalist tires; probably wear through your treads in a couple thousand miles.

As for the rims clearing the Brembo calipers. I feel to say NOT. But, I do not know.

The rims are 6.5, but according to an internet tire calculator I found somewhere the tires at contact would be the same width as the OEM front. If that's not the case I would have to reevaluate what would make sense. I was talking so much rubber on the sidewalls lol.

As for fitting over the brakes, I guess the only way would be to physically check. I don't see myself doing that anytime soon

Yeah, 6.5" wide rims allow c. 8.46457 inches wide tread at the upper end; so a front tire of 8" wide (like OEM) would definitely work ON the wheels, even if they did look a bit funny (but in winter, maybe that doesn't matter so much?).

1) What are the wheels from?
2) Same bolt circle? Same hub size?
3) Do you have the Brembo rear brakes? Yeah, no - 16" won't fit no matter what.. I think someone managed to squeeze a high-clearance 17" on the rear for drag racing, but, no way 16s will fit over rear Brembos.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

The wheels were originally from my old 2015 Tacoma X-Runner

Sucks, because question 2 is answered in the affirmative. Oh well.

Who wants to buy 16inch rims? Lol
