Hi,
I got my windshield replaced today and immediately noticed that the HUD wasn't anything like it was before replacement. It was distorted, slanted at an angle and the overall display was not as sharp as it was on the original glass (before replacement). I tried changing every setting available to adjust the HUD from the in-car setup menu but to no avail. The glass shop thinks this needs calibration by KIA because of different glass density compared to OEM windshield. I don't agree with this since only the camera/sensors will require calibration and not the HUD. FYI, I went through AMI which is a reputed private insurance for glass here in Alberta, Canada, and I went to their preferred glass shop through their website. I am guessing it is the issue with these OEM replacement windshields. What do you all think. Your suggestions are welcome.

I was told that there is only the KIA glass but that was Safelite here in US. I just had mine replaced in July and noticed no difference in HUD or camera/sensors.

If it wasn't like $2000 to replace then maybe the wrong glass for your vehicle.

I only difference I noticed was the big hole in my pocket

I am sorry to hear that. I went through my insurance so I guess they can install OEM. If you installed original KIA glass and everything works as it should then the 3rd party glass installed on my car is at fault and no recalibration would fix it.

They said it is compatible with HUD, LKA (Lane Keep Assist) and all that jazz before installing it. It even has HUD written on the glass.
Have you look at the HUD projector? It could be that the windshield is fine but that some liquid or dirt got on the projector. I had that happen to me the last time someone detailed my car. If it's got gunk on it you can gently wipe it off with a damp cloth (I wouldn't recommend using cleaning compounds).

If that's not the problem then I'd recommend posting a picture of what the display looks like on the windshield, as well as whatever part information is listed on the glass.

This makes me reluctant to want to get my windshield replaced. I've had a crack that goes from passenger side to middle of the windshield since about March or April.

whenever spent 2k for the glass needs to go and give me 1k please as I would find better ways to spend it. $300 for the non HUD and $700 for the HUD glass. That's wholesale prices. Should have shopped around buddy, you got fleeced.

This is how my hud looks after I replaced it. Seems the same as the original one. IMG_20200827_151146.webp

I had same problem here in the UK after my Kia Stinger windscreen was replaced with a Fuyao windscreen. Also, the company who did the work said they were unable to calibrate my LKA, and said they would therefore have to replace the glass they fitted with one from Kia! The LKA is working OK though, just not been calibrated. Waiting to see whay happens next!

The angle is adjustable in the settings!

Do you not have that setting?

*Edit* just realized I replied to a very old post. My bad
