So I've officially jumped on the ceramic coating bandwagon. Decided I'm going to try and do it myself and have already bought about $150 worth of products, tools and supplies. Just waiting for the weather to be nice enough to give it a go.

My next question is what about the windows? I know you should not apply the ceramic coating to the windows, but is there any other good long-term treatment/protection for the windows? Or is my best bet to just keep applying Rain-X every so often?

With the windows, when winter is near i always use a good car polish on the windows and it works a treat.

Nah, there's way better products than RainX, including a few overpriced ones. if you want somethick quick and easy, you can look at the good soft99's Glaco Roll On (Large) or Ultra Glaco .. the former seems to be slightly more performant, but lasts less long (forget Glaco Mirror for the outside mirrors, it doesn't stay and is wiped of immediatly with just touch). Other such products, which are a bit less easy to apply include Gtechniq G Products (G1, G5 etc).

All of those last way longer than RainX, especially on the front with the wipers. None of them last forever though, especially if wipers are used too often/early on the highway etc.
