I have aftermarket wheels that are wider so I'm thinking of going to to 265 in the rear. would I experience a decrease in performance? my stinger is AWD if that matters.

I have 285s in the rear and definitely took a hit on gas mileage.

But aftermarket wheels tend to be lighter than the stock wheels, and that reduction in rotating mass is way more beneficial for performance. Plus you get more traction from a dig.

A lot of factors to consider. Bigger tires will weigh more, which could slow you down. But they could provide more traction (depending on type of tire, of course), which will make you faster. Of course, you're car is AWD so if you're stock you don't need more traction, so...

Hopefully your new wheels aren't heavier than the stock wheels.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
so I got the 265s... I didn't notice much of a difference accelerating, but 20 mins later one of them is flat. I took off the tire and there is a huge blue screw in it. FML

Wider rear tires will reduce oversteer, if you were noticing any of that (this car in AWD form naturally has some oversteer).
