Will we ever be able to get farts on downshift like in the G70?

I love the farts that many cars give off on downshifts. Typically DSGs do it but torque convertors also do it (e.g. BMW ZFs). The sound comes from the ignition cut that is programmed to occur during shifts. This protects the transmission but also keeps the turbo spooled (and makes a great noise).

Here is the G70 doing it in stock form on every gear change:

However, the only time the Stinger does it is from 1-2 and only when using LC.

It must be possible on our platform if the G70 is doing it, is there anyway to get a TCU tune etc to enable it?

I get the burps and farts from my Stinger with mid pipes and MBRP Catback installed.

I'm sure its loud but I doubt you're getting shift farts. It's a unique sound that comes from spark cut. Need a tune to get it, not an exhaust.

I've watched countless MBRP + downpipe vids and the Stinger just doesn't fart on shifts. (except during LC)

Wow, I had no idea the new G70s have the upshifting farts. I would love to have it on my Stinger aswell. You’re right about it only doing that during 1-2 w/ LC, but after that, it’s normal shifts. I currently have MBRP + Arks aswell.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
If you really want it, then call up Lap3 and/or Tork and get them (pay them sufficiently) to do it.

they normally only fart and burp due to poor tuning
That's nonsense. As I stated above, farts are done intentionally by cutting ignition during shifts. It's equivalent to anti-lag and serves two purposes:

- Lower torque during shifts to protect the gearbox
- Keep the turbo spooled during shifts so that it remains at max boost when the next gear kicks in.

I bet it was done on the G70 for the sound though.

Ima hater i do not like farts lol

The 2022 stinger does it too. It’s the new exhaust on stinger/g70. The 2022 g70s for a fact shift quicker then old ones. Idk about the 2022 stingers. I test drove a 2022 g70. In sport+ the tranny is just as quick as zf8 in m340i.

If i hear correct hyundai has proper dual clurch and stinger is auto so thats why they fart?

Unfortunately it doesn't. Only from 1-2 in launch control like the others.

hyundai has proper dual clurch
That's not true either. The 2022 G70 still has a torque converter automatic.

You can program in farts on a DCT or a torque converter, all it is is ignition cut during shifts. The ZFs in the BMW's and the supra all have it. Also evidenced by the fact the Stinger does do it during launch control.

Seems the 2022+ G70 3.3T's do it VERY often, seeing it on multiple videos. Maybe the ECU is programmed with more ignition cutting? I like it.
