• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Hope all Stingers were under cover last night. Worst hail storm in over 20 years creating wide-spread damage. Hail the size of cricket balls in some areas. Insurance Council has raised a Catastrophe number (all Insurance companies buy Catastrophe cover so that when their claims from an individual event exceed a set $ value any amount over that is recoverable - so if cover is set at $5mil and total claims cost ended up at say $10mil then the company would recover $5mil.)

Sydney hailstorm bill expected to top $20 million

My baby was safely tucked away in the garage while I was trying to get the lawn mowed before it hit. Didn’t get any hail in the end but areas around me got smashed pretty good. Some of the cars at work ended up with bad panel damage and smashed windows

Must have been a pretty high thunderstorm cell, the strong updrafts pushed hail up where it got bigger then fell. Days like that you tie your mattress to the roof of your car.

Yep, a colleague of mine had his lovely orange VF Ute absolutely pounded by the hail yesterday afternoon, it looked like someone took to it with a large ball pein hammer, aluminium bonnet totally stuffed.
Example pic before the hail damage.

Where do you find a 5metre mattress:D

The power of nature is amazing and frightening.

We had a tornado come thru 20 years ago, the associated supercell caused massive hail damage for miles and miles. Aerial pics show hundreds of houses with blue tarps covering roofs. There was a car dealership directly in the path, and every vehicle was totaled due to hail damage. We lived directly in the path, and by some miracle, were in one of the spots where it "picked up" and skipped over us. People just a mile away were not so lucky.
