Hi, All:

Does anyone have a dedicated trash container that fits in the passenger door cubby? My wife is weary of using folded down grocery bags and the like. They are ugly and not convenient.

Thanks for any and all responses and recommendations. :D

I’m gonna get crap for this....

Her purse?

Jajajajajaja

Seriously, there should never be a need. NEVER BRING CONSUMABLES INSIDE HER (the car, not your wife).

EDIT:
When anyone else is in the car, I use a nice fabric grocery bad shoved on the netting behind my seat (which my passenger can reach if they HAVE to have trash).

She's a front passenger. Eating is her constant chore: she's vegan (for health sustaining/recovering reasons, not out of choice); so she is "grazing" more or less constantly during waking hours. The trash cubby is for stray hairs (so she won't put the windows down and get me annoyed at her), little bits of this or that, and so she wants something easily dumped but aesthetic: a grocery bag, plastic or fabric, is not aesthetic. She just updated me: she would also settle for a "liner" of some sort to put in the glovebox. Any ideas?

I’d go to a clothing tailor with some dimensions and some leather from someplace and have a custom liner made.

Would she go for this? Find the largest diameter plastic bottle that will fit in the bottle cubby. Cut off the top at an angle that matches the edge of the cubby. You can even "soften" the sharp edges with electrical tape or fabric tape. This won't hold large trash, but it's pretty hidden, and will work unless she actually wants to carry a water bottle there.

Trade the Stinger for the new Volvo XC40, it comes with a built in trash can!

How about this? Well, I can't post a link (too new of a member. :( Search Amazon for "KDL Car Auto Garbage Trash Can".

Nice idea. One of the comments says it won't fit in the door of a Hyundai Elantra. I've noticed that the Stingers' door pockets are rather narrow too. So I'm guessing this is too fat to fit in the Stinger's door.

Buy her a bus pass :p:D

One of the pictures in the listing shows it being used in a console cup holder. Not sure i would like that, but happy wife, happy...

Thought you said the glove box? Looks like this might fit in there..

.. but if you're going with the glove box, just take some measurements then go to Ikea or The Container Store and find something that fits.

Of course she uses the cup holders in the console for her water bottle too; so trash can isn't going there. When I am by myself on a road trip, that nifty can would work for me: water cup in one, trash can in the other.

How about this -- search for "KMMOTORS Jopps Comfortable Car Garbage Bin Original" on Amazon

My wife is receiving these suggestions with gratitude. She says, "Tell everybody thanks." Nothing so far. That bag that is slung around the shifter would be practical, if that floor space were not already "spoken for" by her purse, which is beside a food bag between her knees on most drives, but always on longer drives. She's vegan and is eating more or less constantly. The passenger floor is covered in toted stuff! Not what she wants, what she requires, for her health. The obvious quick fix is just to toss trash into one of those already toted bags. But that offends her aesthetics.

You have shown her that the car has a whole back seat for some of that stuff...right? o_O

We put stuff back there. Sometimes I feel like we are packed for an overnighter. Heh. Up front, I am just talking about what she wants easy to hand during a drive.

Just saw this today and thought of this thread. https://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B013RJOE0C/octhandy3-desk-traf-20/ref=nosim/

Blocks the rear AC vents. And is rather BIG. Don't know where else you'd put it. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Find a box that fits snugly in the door pocket.
Cut the box to size so the top is open.
Line with small black garbage bag, cheap from the dollar store.
Hold bag flush on the box with a black elastic band (cheap head bands, dollar store).

It'll be open, so anything that smells will stink up the car, but you shouldn't be leaving that kinda garbage in there anyway.
